Thank you for your reminder. Agree. I'll follow your scripting style because it helps improve readability.

highend wrote:It's a ternary conditional.
Yes, I found it in the manual. I should have read ahead to locate the description on the weird construct (condition)? value-if-true : value-if-false.
Thank you for your fast help.

Ternary conditionals

Referring to

Code: Select all

::$r = ("a" == "a"); $r = ($r?"True":"False"); msg $r;
,
how to interpret ($r?"true":"False")?
Is the "?" (question mark) an implied "if"? :oops:

Re: Manual Discrepancy--State=3

Hi Highend,
highend wrote:Your script tries to make two entries (1+3) the default one. Which ofc doesn't work.
Now I understand completely your explanation. Thank you for your patience.
Now I understand the default is already claimed by the first caption, namely, "Go to C:|C:|1" goto "C:\".

Re: The Goto-Shorthand Failure on Address Bar

Hi Highend, If you read the description in the help file a bit more thoroughly you should notice that this is only valid for multi-script resources... (first line after the caption). Your "Desktop;" is NOT a multi-script resource! You're correct. The help file specifically expresses that the shortha...

Re: The Goto-Shorthand Failure on Address Bar

Hi PeterH,
PeterH wrote:::load "Desktop"; :?:
But the Bible states the support of shorthand requiring neither LOAD nor GOTO.
The Desktop in my last post is the Window Desktop you stare at daily, not an xys script file.

Manual Discrepancy--State=3

The manual states: XY22.jpg State Default = 1 State Checked = 2 State Disabled = 4 My xyscript shows differently. XY24.jpg In particular, why is the caption with state=3 now shown? "Go to C:|C:|1" goto "C:\"; "Go to D:|D:|2" goto "D:\"; "Go to E:|E:|3" goto "E:\"; "Go to F:|F:|4" goto "F:\"; Please ...

Hi Highend & PeterH, ...or in short: 0 or "" is false everything else is true Thank you for your thorough follow-up. Thank you for further crystal-clear clarification (CCC).
