Re: Scripting: download command is picky about https

took a bad example. Try https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams Regardless it should still work. In my OP link the response from the server is actually {"error":"Not Found","status":404,"message":null} That should show up in Xyplorer as pure text, instead Xyplorer throws a 400 error. Regardless try usi...

[SOLVED] Scripting: download command is picky about https

Don, I'm having trouble using the download command to get text from a server over https. For example ::download is able to get text from an address such as https://www.google.com but when I try to get a response from Twitch.tv's API Xyplorer throws error 400 URL not found. For example: https://api.t...

Re: OT: What's up with Japan?

Fairly sure that Japan's computer literacy rate is right up there with all the other 1st world countries. I think it's mainly to do with Xyplorer being foreign software. It's like the Chinese have their own separate version of Facebook, Skype, etc... I think it's hard for foreign software to penetra...

Hash 0.6 - Sha256 and sha512 support

Hash 0.6 - Sha256 and sha512 support hash.xys To use the script you will require: 1. Xyplorer 7.0 or higher. The script is not tested for earlier versions but may work. How to use: 1. Place Hash.xys into the <xypath>\Data\Scripts folder 2. Create a catalog entry to load the script or make your own ...

Youtube music downloader

This small script will take a link to a Youtube (music) video and will process the .flv file into a local mp4 file. It uses both VLC and FFmpeg binaries which are both FOSS. You probably need to change the path variables to suit your file system. The sequence is like this: 1. Enter URL, artist, titl...

Re: The End of the Lifetime License

I'm aware of it, but I don't see as such a problem. I'm also aware of Sturgeon's Law ("ninety percent of everything is crap") and surely it also extends to people. But we have 7 billion of them. I'm happy with the 700 million remaining. :) You know, my Customer Satisfaction Score is incredible,...

Re: Power Filter [v1.0 alpha4]

Just installed it. Works like a charm and it's probably something Don may want to implement as a native feature. Possibly with credit to the original author.

Re: True backgroudground scripts

So either Don will bring a possibility to suppress this message for run by some parameter (e.g. with wait=2 for "wait, no message"), or by not bringing XY to the foreground when displaying the message - or you will have to avoid calling the "run with wait" in a loop. Yeah, good idea. Done. Amazing ...

Re: True backgroudground scripts

To avoid the run command in the loop you could (in this loop) just build a .bat file containing all commands, and then execute this .bat by just one "run with wait". ...just some ideas... That's actually a pretty good idea. With the added benefit that the terminal running the batch file is entirely...

Re: Setting file properties.

Afaik no, it's not. Google for "ID3 Mass Tagger" (original homepage doesn't exist any more) and give it a try (ofc you have to control it via XY). Which is weird considering it can be done manually though the "mp3 special" context menu... edit: Well as it turns out FFmpeg is capable of setting medi...

Setting file properties.

Using the property() command you can retrieve a specific property from a file. I'd like to be able to set the properties of several mp3 files (artist, title, etc..) using a script command.
Is this possible?

PeterH wrote:I think this isn't the looping itself, but the execution of a (long running) external command?
(...of course in the loop...)
Well the external process is part of the script so different wording I suppose.
Regardless, any solution to this problem?

True backgroudground scripts

Hello, I wrote a script that uses feeds files to a FFmpeg binary to convert them. At times I'll have over 500 mp3 files from an audiobook that need to be converted into m4a. Because these files are usually small in size FFmpeg doesn't take very long to finish a conversion. This results in the script...
