Re: Scripting Bugs

"_" is an allowed letter for a variable name - so the complete expression is seen as reference to a variable.
" " is not allowed for a variable name - so the interpreter can see where the name ends.

Re: Getting USB flash drive recognized

Does Win Explorer recognize it in such a situation, when XY doesn't?

Re: New operator Set-Append

Fine, that quite some scripters seem to be glad.
Fine, that it was easy.
Fine, that the voodoo seems to help.
Best of all, that you were surprised :biggrin:

So: all is well :appl:

Have a fine Sunday!
(I hope you like it cold.)

Re: New operator Set-Append

For completeness: just changed one script to contain several .= :arrow: seems to work fine!
Not just simple concatenations, but a bit more complex like:

Code: Select all

 $props .= SubStr("     $nr", -5) . " $propnm = (" . SubStr("     $lenval", -4) . ") $propval<crlf>";
:tup:

So thanks a lot!

Re: New operator Set-Append

:whistle: :shock: :D :D :D That's fine! Hey! :D "Set-Prepend" was just another idea, so: $a = "John"; $a =. "Hello "; says "Hello John". (Sometimes I must build a string right to left.) But no question: what you've made are the most often needed expressions. You said you "Experimentally added ... Co...

Re: Allow style=2+128 for InputSelect()

OK: not as fast as your change, but now it's tested.

Result: positive :tup:
As usually, and as expected :D

Thanks again!

Allow style=2+128 for InputSelect()

I need InputSelect() with multiselect (i.e. Style=2), where each selection needs some rather descriptive text. So it would be fine (and seems meaningful to me :titter: ) to allow additive style=128 to return a separated list of numbers of the selected items. (Be it separated by " ", "," or separator...

Re: Name Sort not valid in 18.70

Maybe this is a side effect of natural (number) sorting?

Re: New operator Set-Append

Just had a laugh :lol:

So if I did explain it bad - I'm just looking for the same as the VB operator &= does. :maf:
Found it via a link to VB-docs from klownboy: thanks for that!

And I'd really use it very often. Again and again...

Re: Website and Help Typos

Just happened to see:
In Help, Scripting Commands Reference, in the list of commands, "readurlUTF8()" is not mentioned,
while it's well described behind readurl().

(So first I thought it would be missing completely :roll: )

Re: Typing file name which include Unicode characters FAIL

Hm, getting a bit OT here, but:

it's about info "getting your attention" if you don't look there - and that's about color and size. And the text adds quite a bit to the size of the icon :roll:
(Miss a smily with eyeglasses, so take these: :beer: :beer: )

Re: Typing file name which include Unicode characters FAIL

After having thought about it I'd prefer still more "alarming".

As I first must be alarmed (if not expecting the msg), and only then must read it.
But: that's just for me!

Re: Typing file name which include Unicode characters FAIL

In my pov the "new red" is better to read, but less signalling for attention. So hard to decide.
