Do the filenames or pathnames contain non-alphanumeric characters? I've know applications that have problems with such characters, although I'm not aware of TrackerV3 having any such problems, they may be upsetting an external application (i.e. QVP) when they are passed to them.

Agreed, point taken. I hadn't thought about it in that way.

I've done some fairly detailed find checks and all appears to work as I expected, so it looks good.

Should there be a link to the download? Not sure I like the "!" without a space. The space makes it stand out better from the text, but I'll see how it goes. I agree about not using the ";" - too many options for the same thing can lead to confusion. Having seen in the History.txt file ! fixed minor...

Yes, I'm happy with the 2 parallel versions A and B. I'd use the B version in preference.
It's been very hot in London as well but we're now in the middle of a very violent, and impressive, thunderstorm.

An ex-programer. Control system software in the 1980's using Z80 and 6800. High level languages hardly existed (Pascal was about the only one) and it was far too slow so everything I wrote was in Assembler. I then moved to management and had other people write the software for me. Now I'm retired I ...

I like version B since the AND and OR operators remain the same, you are just adding the NOT operator. I don't think I've ever seen the " ! " used as a not operator - excellent idea. I assume they will require the spaces same as " | " and " & " do. Pity about Regular Expressions but I understand you...

I don't like the first option, too much like plain text. "cat or dog" to me indicates looking for a file named "cat or dog.ext". The "-cat" would certainly not work in my case since I highlight temporary files I want to stand out with "---" prefix (---filename.ext), it makes them very obvious in a f...

Info panel size

Could you provide a quick means of changing the Info Panel size between minimum and maximum? I find that most of the time I either want it at minimum size (File Info, Find files) but for Preview or File View I want maximum size. Rather than dragging the bar that separates the Info Panel from the mai...

I think it's an extremely bad idea to be able to open multiple documents with Enter. Every file manager I use has the Open (or Open with) option which enables multiple document opening. Keep Enter for the focused document only please.

IrfanView will tell you if an image has the wrong extension and then gives you the option to change it to the correct extension. I don't know why some web sites distribute images with the wrong extension, but they do.

Another thought. Since you have a largish display is there sufficient video memory or is the system grabbing conventional memory when it needs more video memory? I didn't think that modern video drivers did that but I know it was something that was done with earlier video cards that did not have suf...

I've been following Chris Wood's thumbnail problem with interest but saw no point in commenting since everything is perfect with me and I've been unable to produce any errors. Folder sizes vary from a few 10's of files up to thousands. Image sizes vary from 10's to 100's of Kb. Some larger folders a...

The thumbnail view is excellent, especially with the slightly smaller size available now. Rather than the status bar message being "processing thumb" and it's number I would find it more useful to have a progress indicator. Either thumb number of total number, percentage complete or a progress bar, ...

The reason I wanted to save a fully expanded tree structure was to see if I could reproduce a slow start-up as Dana reported so I was trying different combinations. The slowest I could get was with several thousand files in one directory and even that was only about 10 seconds. How do we install new...

Special files

Scrolling through the root directory when "hiberfil.sys" or "pagefile.sys" have focus the focus immediately jumps to the top of the file window list. Clicking on either of these files with the mouse has the same effect. I know these are special Windows files but it makes scrolling up or down the roo...
