Re: 64 bit XYPlorer

@atarikg: Aside from the extra step of invoking XYplorer's 64 bit context menu to access 64-bit handlers and extensions, what are some other specific 64-bit issues you wrestle with in 32-bit XYplorer?

I don't really quite understand that, and I suspect something else is going on here. But I'll continue running with the log levels enabled and hope to capture a situation that doesn't involve a "rename".

Re: List doesn't auto-refresh

The log clearly shows: no SHCNE_RENAMEITEM notification has been sent. No chance for XY. But that event doesn't show up when I do the same kind of download at other times when the list IS automatically refreshed. For example: 09:01:48.692 >> ShellNotify: SHCNE_DELETE: U:\Jerry\download\8248.tmp | 8...

Re: feature request: Favorites Bar/Panel

FWIW, it's been a longstanding wish of mine that the catalog be alternately accessible as a resizable non-modal popup window instead of taking up space in the main window, since my routine XY window is short in height. Consequently and unfortunately, I don't make any use of the Catalog, which is oth...

Re: List doesn't auto-refresh

Here's an example of one typical situation that just occurred, and captured with the log. I download something from Chrome, which until completed has a temporary name. Then when completed, the temporary name is renamed to the final name. Except I never see the final rename in the list. So in the exa...

Re: History vs. Recent Locations

You might possibly have overcompensated just a bit! ;-) BTW, How does your RAID system handle renames of folders? So, suppose you do a simple rename of a folder containing many gigabytes of stuff. Will the sync to the other drives replicate the change as a simple rename, or will it go about making a...

Re: History vs. Recent Locations

Hoping my idea about an option to filter/limit/suppress some of these lists gets traction. You can suppress the History somewhat if you configure it per tab. I just realized that you may have been referring to the History... popup window (not the Back/Forward history toolbar button menus). That's a...

How about a Queued Operations menu, then?

Re: History vs. Recent Locations

As I understand it, History has other options that let you keep a separate history for each tab, remember selections and sort order, omit duplicates, in addition to the back/forward traversal. Whereas, Recent Locations is a just global tracking of every location you visit, across all tabs, and doesn...

And you would not want to feed it from the Background Jobs queue as well?

Re: Want: Copy To List

Well, others here will have to weigh in if they care, but I think it's probably something that should just be scripted in a foreach loop instead of encumbering the API. The only reason I sometimes resort to doing this kind of thing outside of XY in a unix shell (using cygwin on the PC) is simply bec...

Re: Support for APE audio format

My .02 for what those pennies are or aren't worth... .ogg, .shn, and .ape are a shadow of their former popularity, the leader in compression formats amongst the trading communities appears now clearly to be FLAC (as it should be). Well, it probably depends on the community and type of music, and FL...

Re: How to persist visual filter BUT only for a particular TAB?

Another observation, which may or may not be a feature: I do a search. Then I select a particular file in the results and Go to Focused Item which takes me into a corresponding locked home zone tab that has a persistent filter in effect. The filter is automatically turned off in that situation. I ca...

Re: Want: Copy To List

But why? The most common use case is an album or boxed set parent folder containing many CD subfolders into which I want to copy an image file of the album cover so I can see it when playing the individual CDs. Another situation involves copying the same status marker or info file of some sort into...
