Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
No problems here with MP4 audio or video. It's handled by XY internally on the Preview tab, and by the WMP preview handler (ships with Windows) in the Floating Preview. Well - all my machines have all Microsoft media features removed. We do not want to deal with any possibility of having WMP or any...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
I turned off XY's Info Panel, and I haven't had a single crash in 5 days. Still running 16.10 on Windows 10. XY is playing very well with Microsoft Office 2013, PDF-Xchange Editor, everything. Try it with an MP4 file. Crashes everytime here as soon as I preview one of those - without a proper handl...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
Ok...here we go: 1. Used F12 to examine a series if PDFs in a single folder. Checked 10 out and then "closed" the preview by hitting F12 again. Waited a full two minutes. No crash 2. Used F11 to examine the same series of PDFs in a single folder. Checkout the same 10 and closed floating pr...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
Will test and report back to see what's going on...this time without leaving the app at all.admin wrote:OK, that's the already known in-the-background crash.
You only get that when you first do F12, then F11?
or also on F12 only?
or also on F11 only?

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
OK, I will make a note on the website: - Adobe Reader 11.0.13 - You preview a PDF using F11 (Floating preview), and it immediately (before even the preview is shown) crashes XYplorer. That correct? No. Using Reader 11.0.13 I moved into a folder of PDFs...and first did F12 to preview them. I preview...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
Understood. I just did not read that part.admin wrote:"(built in) preview capability" ? IMO the website states the opposite very clearly:
Was too excited about the first paragraph.

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
The promo material is not the place for footnotes. It's also not the place to give an impression that something "just works" either. When I read the blurb on 16.10 - I was very excited and installed right away. All the while automatically assuming that XY had it's own awesome (built in) p...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
Generally, PDF preview will always be depending on 3rd party products (you cannot expect XY to become a native PDF viewer). Well - the way your promo material for 16.10 reads... "Preview. Completely revised the preview engine . Now you can preview Office, Audio, and Video files using the avail...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
You do not tested XYplorer 16.10.0004 or higher yet ? I have got no pdf related crash (or any other crash) since XYplorer 16.10.0004. My configuration: Windows 7 64 bit, Adobe reader 11. I see application version: XYplorer 16.10.0.0 in your problem signature. Well - I do not do interim builds. Just...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
B) You are the only one reporting such an amount of crashes. AFAIK all other reports were on crashes that only happened after these steps: 1) Previewed PDF 2) XYplorer window in the background 3) Wait 1-2 minutes Generally, PDF preview will always be depending on 3rd party products (you cannot expe...

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
Whats your default PDF reader? The default PDF reader also handles the preview and thumbnails! I am using Adobe Reader 11.0.13. I refuse to use anything higher than v11 of Reader due to the bloat and useless operation of any of the newer version or Reader. Adobe has lost the plot on this app and I ...

Re: 16.10 changes line spacing height on existing installs
I actually like the new spacing in the tree. Gives me a little more room to operate.

Re: 16.10 crashing often on Windows 10 64-bit
I am crashing everywhere in 16.10...just installed it about 30 minutes ago. Most of the issues surround the new preview. Here is what I got when previewing an MP4... Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: XYplorer.exe Application Version: 16.10.0.0 Application Timestamp: 5...
