Re: Cache Length Column [Asynchronous (non-blocking) List Columns]

If this is too broad.... On the other hand, if it's not broad enough, the opposite direction would be to generalize it. get("ReducedSelected", [func=count], [column=Name]) func: count sum max min avg Note: the current column format will be used. Note: if multiple columns share the same na...

Re: Menus abuse List white space

So you're OK with turning LMB into a parody of RMB?

Re: Menus abuse List white space

I think I know what's going on here and why this anomaly exists. What's happening is you are trying to turn LMB into a defective version of RMB w/o a menu by synchronizing their selection patterns while forgetting why such a weird pattern for RMB exists in the first place. The reason selection holds...

Unexpected dragging with open menu

1. Select a bunch of items
2. Open some menu
3. Try to drag an unselected item (or white space)

Selected items get dragged

Re: Multiple selection in the List not working properly in 23.60.0009

It's broken here too in ::fresh; w/o any change in settings. Also, if I re-press Ctrl (Ctrl Up, Ctrl Down) before every next click, it works correctly but if I hold Ctrl, it gets bugged after a couple of clicks and starts skipping some items.

Re: Menus abuse List white space

Well it should either preserve all 3 or none, also something weird with Ctrl going on, not always working.

PS It doesn't work the way you're describing, it shall drop the selection and re-select what you're clicking on instead.

Re: Menus abuse List white space

Almost there, you forgot refocusing from the Address Bar and from the Tree. Same stuff, it preserves the selection in 2 out of 3 cases (white space and selected items) but loses it when clicking on unselected ones.

Re: Menus abuse List white space

v23.60.0008 - 2022-09-10 14:26 * List: Focusing the list by clicking one of many selected items now preserves that multiple selection. Previously only the clicked element was selected, the other selections were lost. The new behavior is broadly the same as in File Explorer. Clicking on unselected i...

Re: Menus abuse List white space

Those companies are exercising their right to make a bad business decision and lose their own money. Plus, if Explorer wasn't that bad there wouldn't be such a gap (abyss even) between it and XY and switching wouldn't be that appealing. Forget about Explorer, I only used it for the demonstration pur...

Menus abuse List white space

I've noticed that several menus do not respect LMB on List white space (Main Menu, Status Bar, Breadcrumb Bar, Toolbar). If one of those menus is open and you click on any item in List it works correctly performing a normal LMB click on that item. But if you click on white space in List it doesn't p...

Re: Click rename behavior when giving focus back to XYplorer window

An even better illustration of this problem is if you have multiple files selected, pop the context menu for them, change your mind, and then click on any of the files. Desired behavior would be to go back to having the files still selected. You wanted to be able to deselect a file by clicking in w...

Re: Click rename behavior when giving focus back to XYplorer window

You still have at least 3 ways to close the menu but keep everything selected:

1) press Esc - works in many other situations when you change you mind
2) hold Ctrl (or Shift) and clik on white space
3) click on Window Title Bar / Breadcrumb Bar / Tab Bar / Status Bar / ...

Re: CEA "Left-click on line number" delay

Both solutions have pros and cons, the current one, for instance, allows to get both single click and double click actions w/o any delay (by undoing on double-click what was done on single click and then performing the double-click action).
