well, the language is not important in itself. it's just, what do you do if in 10 years the 32-bit for Windows consumer dies out. Then you have to find another job. This is something you can't fix anymore. I know what it's like, believe me. I've quit a dozen times, and I've been through it.

PS: If there would be some exciting revolutionary idea, a really new way to manage files, then I would go for it. From scratch. Create a replacement for the current Windows Explorer with C# or a new UWP app. Give it a modern touch, some tabs and scripting/extensions and you will win. I swear to you.
