Certain custom file icons randomly turning into black or grey squares in list

I have 125 portable file icon rules. Sometimes when I'm using xyplorer, I'll scroll down and a certain filetype's icon will just be a black or grey square. It usually happens all at once. Like I'll go days without seeing any black squares, but then one day I'll scroll down and there will be black sq...

Re: Extractor - Extract, cleanup and delete archives

Anyone know the "right" way to get rid of the GUI? Because of the little delete GUI that confirms which archives you want to delete, this isn't really any faster for me than just extracting via 7-zip's context menu entry, clicking the archive, tapping the delete key. So I went through the ahk script...

Re: vk_browser_back / forward support

Since I posted all that, I actually ended up implementing a script that is sensitive to where the focus is. Turns out xyplorer actually integrates really easily with AHK as far as programs go. It has a ton of 'controls' that AHK is aware of so you can get really specific. Whereas with something like...

What is "drag & drop context menu"?

I saw this in the settings and I've seen it referred to in other places but I don't know what it's referring to. How do you get this context menu to come up? Thanks

edit: is this the menu that comes up when you right click a file and drag it somewhere else?

Re: vk_browser_back / forward support

You can do a lot of cool stuff with #IfWin in general. For xyplorer I use this: #IfWinActive #IfWinNotExist, ahk_exe XYplorer.exe #e:: Run "C:\Program Files (x86)\XYplorer\XYplorer.exe" return #IfWinExist #IfWinActive, ahk_exe XYplorer.exe #e:: send ^t return #IfWinExist, ahk_exe XYplorer.exe #IfWin...

Re: vk_browser_back / forward support

#NoTrayIcon #Persistent #SingleInstance Force #IfWinActive, ahk_exe XYplorer.exe XButton1:: Send !{Left} return #IfWinActive, ahk_exe XYplorer.exe XButton2:: Send !{Right} return If that doesn't work try swapping XButton1 with Browser_Back, and Xbutton2 with Browser_Forward. If neither of them work...

Sort by type, then sort by size instead of name

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the way it works when you sort the list by "Type" is it first sorts all the files/folders by type and arranges the types in alphabetical order. And within a given type it arranges the files by the name of the file. Which is very useful and the way it norm...

Re: A troublesome question for xyplorer

If you don't mind not using the immersive control panel and some other old shell integrated windows system programs, that ShellIncludeSpecialFolders works perfectly and opens the folders in question instantly. If you do mind it, I found a user's AHK script while I was looking into the same thing. I ...

Reasons for using xycopy?

I'm just curious what the justification for writing that program was, are there problems with the native copy handler? I can see that xycopy provides more explicit options for collisions but is there a performance difference? I'm willing to switch over to it but the interface is pretty different so ...

Re: Custom File Icon for executables without embeded icon

It will be possible in the next beta version: + Custom File Icons: Now you can define custom icons that are used only if there is no embedded specific icon. Simply use the switch /d (think "default"), for example: *.exe /d>NiceGenericExe.ico //only for EXEs without embedded specific icon If you're ...

But if I set a portable file icon for *.exe it will override all the built-in icons for every .exe file.

Re: Custom/Portable File Icons and .ico extension

Maybe Don would like to add a config switch to ignore registry-defined icon for *.ico files. I don't understand. If an PFI is defined then the registry setting for those files is ignored anyway. All it needs for the PFI definition is a working reference to itself equivalent to "%1" in the windows r...

Run script from context menu that ejects/unmounts whichever drive was right clicked?

I've seen a couple scripts that can eject drives but they just pop-up a dialog asking user to specify which drive out of the full list. But that's not really any different from the "safely remove hardware and eject media" tray icon. What would really be cool is a script that doesn't need to ask you ...

Re: Custom/Portable File Icons and .ico extension

But if you're really stubborn and just insist that nothing is wrong with your registry or just refuse to read anything I wrote, I think you might technically be able to circumvent this issue by using *.ico>*.ico However, I think that will only work if the ico in question is the only ico file in the ...
