Re: Settings are erroneously saved
It's a great program for sure. I have tried some alternatives. Directory Opus is similar, and perhaps each has a few advantages. Thanks for the responsive and effective development process! I am still using XY regularly on one of my machines.

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
I'll watch for the problem again, but I'm mostly using a different file manager now, so my opportunities to catch this will be less frequent. I'll report back if I learn anything.

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
There could be a ghost inside my computer. Others have reported such things in the past.
I still wonder if any other differences could be accounting for this recurrent problem.

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
The issue has recurred. I was able to reproduce the problem this time! Run XY. I use a portable installation with a locked pane tab on each side, as noted above. Open a new tab on the right side. I now have one tab on the left, and two on the right. Configuration -> Preview -> Previewed Formats -> T...

Re: XYplorer crashes when previewing pdf
Thank you. I already had PDF-XChange installed but had not installed it with the Shell Extensions. I reinstalled it with Shell Extensions and found that it worked at that point. I guess that this is obvious in hindsight.

Re: XYplorer crashes when previewing pdf
I'm on 64-bit Win 7 Pro. No luck for me yet. Adobe crashes XY. 32-bit PDF-XChange will not install on 64-bit systems. "SumatraPDF-3.1.2-install.exe /opt pdfpreviewer" does not generate a GUID. Revu costs $350. Foxit does not yield any preview.
Any other ideas?

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
You may be right, but I suspect a bug in there somewhere, because my tabsets are being saved periodically without my approval! I do not generally save any new settings manually.

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
Did you use any of the commands in the Tabsets menu? No. I do not routinely use the Tabsets menu; I do not load or save tabsets. I use only one recurring tabset that was previously saved. I have now set another program to alert me about any changes to the panes INI files within 15 seconds of a chan...

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
I have experienced the periodic issue of tabsets being saved when I did not save them. I navigated to Q:\scanned\ but did not save it as part of the tabset. It is now being loaded upon each restart. My tabset generally has one locked tab in each pane. XY Version: 19.80.0138. https://i.imgur.com/8SlY...

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
I read the changelog and was really impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into the changes. Thank you! It seems like everyone should be happy with this.

Re: Settings are erroneously saved
It's hard to argue for a default setting that would discard a configuration setting. I think that most users would expect a program state to remain intact upon restart, unless told otherwise, or unless selected otherwise.
