Re: XYplorer64 28.00: WMF, EMF, and GIF problems
I'm a little surprised about WMF or EMF, but not at all about anim GIFs. Known issue, see https://www.xyplorer.com/faq.php#up64 Everything will be fine with the new releases in the coming weeks. Sounds good. Sorry I overlooked the "animated GIF" known issue in the FAQ -- my eyes-to-brain ...

XYplorer64 28.00: WMF, EMF, and GIF problems
I can't get XYplorer64 28.00 to preview or show thumbnails for WMF or EMF files (very popular old clip art file formats). Both formats are listed and selected in the Previewed Formats section of the Configuration settings. Also, GIF files do not work properly with Mouse Down Blow Up : an empty white...

Re: XYplorer64 28.00 "Cannot decode" flac, m4a, ogg audio files
I thought that XYplorer preview worked with any audio format natively supported by Windows 11, which includes flac and aac/m4a, but I take it that's not the case? I'll try adding x64 codecs and see how it goes … thanks.

XYplorer64 28.00 "Cannot decode" flac, m4a, ogg audio files
My portable install of XYplorer64 28.00 can preview wav, mp3, and ac3 audio files but cannot preview flac, aac/m4a, or ogg audio files … I get a message in the preview window saying "Cannot decode." My standard install of XYplorer32 27.20 can preview/play all audio files. flac, aac/m4a, an...

Re: 23.90.0400 freezes when ...
After I reported this problem, I began noticing other little problems with my PC and found an underlying problem with Windows 11. I fixed that problem (I hope), re-upgraded to 23.90.0400 and everything seems to be working fine now. Sorry for the erroneous bug report.

23.90.0400 freezes when ...
Version 23.90.0400 locks up/freezes when I right-click on a music folder and try to open the content in my music player via the pop-up menu. I have to shut XYplorer down with Task Manager.
I reverted to version 23.90.0300 and the problem disappeared.

Archive preview via Mouse Down/Mouse Up
I like the zip/rar/7z/etc. archive preview in Hover Box, but I'd prefer to right-click on the icon (rather than hover over it) to invoke the preview. Ideally, the Archive File category would be added to the Previewed Formats in the Preview section so that I could use Mouse Down/Mouse Up to invoke th...

Re: Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
Final update: I've played with Mouse Down Blow Up audio preview in v17.50.0100 for a day now without any errors or glitches. Whatever you did in the maintenance update fixed the problem. Thanks again.

Re: Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
Did you already try the latest beta v17.50.0002? I changed something that *might* affect your error... I've updated to v17.50.0100: • the "On file icons as well" option now works properly when using "On right button down" • I've been playing with Mouse Down Blow Up audio preview...

Re: Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
Hm. A bit much, a bit weird. Already tried a Windows reboot? Yes, several reboots … and all three problems occur with a fresh portable install of XYplorer. (The other two problems have been around for several versions, but I was too lazy to report them.) Update : for Mouse Down Blow Up, I've been u...

Re: Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
I would think the Codecs are causing the error. Currently, the only installed DirectShow codecs are those supplied with Windows XP SP3, but the error continues to occur when using only WAV and MP3 files. So "Automation error::CoInitialize has not been called" starts at a random point in t...

Re: Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
What file types are you previewing? I'm previewing WAV and MP3 (using the Windows XP DirectShow filters) and FLAC and OGG (using Xiph.org’s Open Codecs for Windows and DirectShow). For troubleshooting, I uninstalled the Xiph codecs, but the problem remaines with only WAV and MP3 files. PS—I just do...

Problem with Audio Preview/Mouse Down Blowup in 17.50
The new Audio Mouse Down Blowup feature works fine when XYplorer is freshly launched, but after some time, it (and the normal Preview feature) fails to work with any audio format and I get the following message in the status bar: «!playing failed: Automation error::CoInitialize has not been called.»...

Re: Upgrade from 16.40 to 16.50.0200
I have the same problem with my old Windows XP (SP3) PC, only worse: not only are some configuration settings/preferences not preserved, but some related features do not work. For example, the “virtual” folder My Documents disappears from Tree view after updating, but after re-selecting it in the co...
