Re: Middle truncation toggle?

Scripting has a

Code: Select all

setting
command which supports a subset of XYplorer's settings, but not Truncate filenames in the middle.

There is no command ID for this setting, unfortunately.

Re: Auto-Refresh Not Working for "My PC" Location

I can confirm that the My PC-location always shows View > Suspend Auto-Refresh, as enabled. However, when deleting some folders in a different tab and then returning to the tab showing My PC, the free space *is* updated. Do you make file changes affecting free space, outside XYplorer?

Re: Comment Disappears

My guess would be that you don't save settings automatically: in quick testing, exiting without saving settings doesn't save a file's comment. You could do two things: 1. enabling Tools > Configuration > Startup & Exit > Save settings on exit; 2. alternatively, enable Tools > Configuration > Startup...

Re: [DEFUNCT] VirusTotal Reporter for XYplorer

Although using an external utility and not a complete solution (I'm not a scripter), would using Sysinternals' Sigcheck with XYplorer's runret-command be feasible?

Are you running the free version? This doesn't support portable devices.

Re: Apply Recent Locations to Current Tab

From the help file: History... Pops up a list with your recent browse history. The first/oldest entry is at the bottom, the last/newest at the top. The history holds up to 256 entries and remembers them between sessions. Recent Locations... Shows the MRU list of locations from most recent (at the to...

Not sure what you mean by interesting configuration, though... I haven't posted any system configuration info...?
I meant that you have an unusual bad time running XYplorer, especially after some uptime.

Re: Re:

The other problem, with the XYplorer freezes and the audio stutters, was more annoying. I can't be sure that's been resolved -- it only shows up after a few days of uptime -- so I have to wait and see. You have an interesting configuration :|. It's not a question of memory being exhausted after a f...

Re:

Er... when I said "switch it off completely," I didn't mean "hide it from view." I meant that it would be nice to be able to turn off the tree functionality entirely. As in, prevent the code that builds up the tree data structure from running at all. Ah, of course. Did you post elsewhere about your...

I just discovered how to switch to the mini tree and that has solved my problem, but it would be nice for those of use who never use the tree to be able to switch it off completely.
Did you try Window > Show Tree?

Re: How does one apply column settings program-wide ?

Yes, it does. So, generally speaking, changes are per-panel only with the free version ? In limited testing, what works for me is changing the date format *in both panes separately* and then saving settings. It seems awkward to have to make the changes in both panes, but once the change is made in ...

The change propagated to all the tabs of the lower panel (which had focus), however the top panel was unchanged.
Ah, you're using dual pane. Changing things in both panes and then saving settings, doesn't survive a restart?

So this means there is no way to adjust globally the basic parameters of the right panel in the free version (nothing sophisticated) ?
Just to be sure, you've already saved settings (File > Save Settings) after applying your changes?

Re: How does one apply column settings program-wide ?

I cannot find Folder View Settings in the View menu. I'm using the free version. Maybe it's different ? You can see the differences between the free and paid versions here . Folder View Settings is a paid feature. The free version has also been discontinued. The paid version has much to commend it ...
