Re: +++ BREAKING NEWS: XYplorer goes twinBASIC +++
Just to say Don that I like the way you took with the 2 branches : 1) Keep the 32bit branch opened, just to remove bugs if any, no new features. 2) Start a 64bit branch, adding new features only in the 64bit branch. Not all developers would end the 32bit branch so gracefully, many just stop it bruta...

Re: Preview issue with some JPEG files on XP systems
In case it may help admin, as I also got XP, I tested that particular pic. Here is the exact moment where it happened : 15.70.0100 (02-Sep-2015) : decode ok (downloaded from Freezer, tested, also tested some preceding versions, all ok) ==================================== https://www.xyplorer.com/xy...

Re: Adding filesize to Thumbnails view
My bad, I just realize you needed the file size, not the dimensions.

Re: Adding filesize to Thumbnails view
Hi tbm,
There are options to "show dimensions of original" (in thumbnails view) and to increase the number of caption lines. Hope it helps.

Re: How to overwrite all existing files without a popup for each one?
Hi matewo, That's nice from you to try give help on this issue. Yesterday I did just like you, trying to reproduce kger's issue but I never got the "Overwrite Existing Item?" message showed in kger's image, no matter I tested with a recent version of XYplorer or 2 older ones. I got all oth...

Re: Script or RegEx to replace multiple Search & Replace actions?
csilvest, this RegEx pattern could be helpful when using RegExp Rename... ( |-|_)+ > - It means rename all spaces, hyphens, underscores (found alone or multiple) to a single hyphen For example the following filename, containing 3 spaces between 'File' and 'ABC' : File ABC_123-456---___789___---012.t...

Re: column "dimensions"
Great thread, it made me start to script a couple of lines with XYplorer :) Actually, if we sort a list of images using the 'Dimensions' column (Width x Height) then the sort will always display results based on the Width coord. But what if we want a sort based on the Height coord ? (I need this fro...

Re: XYplorer no longer opening PDFs with overlong paths
I once read that even with a maximum path length of 32,767 characters, there are still restrictions on the length of path components (the parts between two \ slashes). They cannot be longer than 256 or so. Strangely, I cannot find any information about this now. Hi Don, Maybe you read it in this MS...

Re: Padding file names with 0
Hi Don No problem with the revised syntax with beta 25.60.0111 , all cases seem to be covered now. Glad you got rid of several variable names (pad padbase padnumr ...) to keep only 1 variable name (pad) with flags. I wanted to discuss that very question with you in my last post but finally I thought...

Re: Padding file names with 0
Thanks Don for the quick update. I just tried last beta (25.60.0110_beta_noinstall) Then Batch Rename with the new syntax <padbase 4 0>* works great on my initial example and also on highend's example (extensions with different length like .txt .mpeg etc...) Next version seems promising too, as show...

Padding file names with 0
Hi everybody I got a question about file renaming. In a folder, my files are named this way, with a maximum of 3 digits before the extension, here is a short example : 1.txt 5.txt 64.txt 98.txt 125.txt 496.txt The goal is to have them renamed like the following, padded with 0 and all files having ex...

Re: RegExp batch rename
Hi highend Thanks for the clarification. Just a question : If # isn't a regex metacharacter, why does it need to be escaped in the following test ? Match text: #abcde Search pattern: (?x)# introduces a comment, next # must be escaped \#abc Result: #abc Without escaping it, the result is wrong. Maybe...

Re: RegExp batch rename
Thanks highend for your input. As it took me time to find the RegExp solution, I was asking in case there was a simpler option in another XPlorer Rename menu, without RegExp. Anyway as it works fine, I'm gonna keep those patterns carefully because this specific batch Rename is needed from time to ti...

RegExp batch rename
Hi everybody I got a folder containing the following files : filename (1).txt ... filename (9).txt filename (10).txt ... filename (19).txt Using XYplorer, I wanted to batch rename some files so (1) to (9) become (01) to (09) This is the menu option and the pattern I tried : File => Rename Special =>...
