Re: Custom file associations: The ones at the bottom of the list should override the ones above them, not other way arou
This is a useful snippet, thanks. But what I'm talking about is simply that the current order looks unnatural. Of course, we can find some metaphors (like "first come, first serve"), but they won't fix its unnaturalness. Why not from top to bottom? This is how we read books and this is, fw...

[Closed] Custom file associations: The ones at the bottom should override the ones at the top, not vice versa
I would call it not a "wish" but a small UI fix. Currently, when you open the Customize File Associations window (Ctrl+F9), custom file associations at the top of the list override custom file associations that are below them. So, if you consider .html files as "text" ones, but y...

Smart tab captions
For tab captions (Configuration | Tabs and Panes | Tabs), I use folder names only. This works fine... unless you have opened two different folders with the same name, for example, C:\Program Files\Vim and C:\John\Desktop\TipsAndTricks\Vim This would be fine if XY will include the parent folder or ma...

[UI] Some menu items in right-click-on-white context menu are actually belong to right-click-on-file-or-folder menu
Isn't it that Move To, Copy To, Backup To and Compare, as well as Cut, Copy, and probably Append (which I never used, so I cannot say for sure) menu items should be moved from the right-click-on-white context menu to the right-click-on-file-or-folder context menu?

Visual Filters vs. Power Filters
If you right-click "Toggle Visual Filter" or "Toggle Global Visual Filter" toolbar button, there will be provided two different options: to manage visual filters and to manage power filters. It seems to me these names are confusing, because they imply that visual filters != power...

Custom File Associations: Multiple applications per single pattern
Is it possible somehow to specify multiple applications per single pattern? Here is what I mean: html>Sublime Text;Chrome or maybe htm;html>Sublime Text;Chrome Sublime Text to edit, Chrome to preview The idea is that when you double-click the file (or press the Enter key instead), you will be promte...

Colored lines without indentation
Currently, if you use colored lines to mark files that you are going to copy or cut, XY also indents these files. This makes such a file look like it is a "child" of a file above. colored_lines.PNG Are you sure dogs are a subset of cats? Just kidding, but I hope you understand what I mean....

Re: Quick Search from a script
This works, thanks. But what I really try to accomply is to make Find Files and Quick Search utilize the same tab that is used to show recently opened files. To show recently opened files, I use the following script that consists of just 2 lines: goto '<get list_recentlyopenedfiles> ? /silent=1'; so...

Quick Search from a script
The scripting commands reference says that to use quick search from within a script, I can use something like text quicksearch("*.jpg"); But how I can perform _actual_ quick search from within a script? That is, the files should be listed in the file list, the same way as if you use quick ...

[Solved] Change "Image Files" global power filter so that it will also allow directories
I want to change the "Image Files" global power filter so that it will also show me any directories, not just image files. I have tried to change it from "Image|Image Files" {:Image} to "Image|Image Files" {:Image} || attr: d "Image|Image Files" {:Image} | att...

Re: Unable to check for updates
The problem with manual updates is that I'm not sure which files are safe to move from one XY version to another.
It seems it will be safe to move tag.dat, for example, but I'm not sure about XYplorer.ini.

Unable to check for updates
Tested with 23.20.0100 When I click Help > Online Support > Check for Updates, XY shows me an error window: Check for Updates Failed Could not reach https://www.xyplorer.com/version.php. Version: Error: Failed to open remote file. Two additional notes: 1. I don't use any anti-virus, firewall or othe...
