Re: Slow startup 20 seconds on fast laptop

Reporting back again: I got an error about the Mini Tree taking long to load (in a new session) because some path not existing anymore. I unchecked "Check existence of subfolders in tree" and now loading is instantaneous once more. I even disabled the Mini Tree and XYplorer loads fast with a normal ...

Re: Slow startup 20 seconds on fast laptop

Reporting back: using the mini tree sped up the loading time DRAMATICALLY. It's almost instantaneous now.

Re: Slow startup 20 seconds on fast laptop

Thank you for your reply! I cleaned up the mruBrowse section as you said. It didn't have a noticeable effect. It still takes over 50 seconds to load XYplorer, and the "Various Information" window still lists every folder and subfolder. I think I'll experiment with the mini tree setting. I've never u...

Re: Slow startup 20 seconds on fast laptop

I have the same problem, but in my case the issue is that the list brought up by "Various Information" is full of "Load Folder..." lines enumerating what appears to be every single folder and subfolder in my computer. Is this normal? I think most people have lots of folders in their drives nowadays,...

Re: Crash on startup

This is still happening. It just happened to me while I had my phone connected to the PC through USB (an Android phone if it matters). I came here by googling the error message in search of a solution and found that this is the exact scenario I was experiencing (that's why I'm necroing this old thre...

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

I've just discovered that some programs still work while others don't. Opening a folder through Defraggler (a free disk defragmenter) works fine: go to the file list, right click on a file, "Open Containing Folder", and XYplorer shows the appropriate folder. Opera and Firefox, on the other hand, no ...

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

OK, so it seems that a freshly downloaded copy of XYplorer 18.80, with no data copied from the previous installation, exhibits this issue.

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

OK, I'll be trying this. I need to do some tedious testing since the switching between default file managers has its quirks -- so I need to work on one version at a time. Will report back.

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

OK, there may be something amiss here. In the APPDATA folder for XYplorer I have a XYplorer.ini file that says it's for version 17.50 and a XYplorer-settings.ini for version 18.80. They both seem to be used for the same purpose (same entries). I haven't compared them thoroughly because they are quit...

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

I mean that if both versions are the same, and one works fine while the other has this glitch, then some script among those I mentioned (Session Manager, RthemesL) could be causing the problem? Just a shot in the dark.

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

With the freshly unpacked version, yes. Also the other two fields were populated with that version's path.

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

News! Opening a folder from JDownloader on an already running instance of XYplorer works in a freshly unpacked 18.80 version. It takes a while, though. The first time I tried, I thought it wasn't working, tried to close XYplorer, and received a message about an unfinished operation. Upon cancelling,...

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

OK, I'll try that then, with a fresh unpack of the latest version and if it doesn't work, a previous one. Will report back.

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

If I completely uninstall XYplorer and reinstall it, maybe a previous version, will I be able to keep my configurations AND scripts? I am using a couple of scripts that keep their own configuration, specifically Session Manager, and it would be a pain to recreate it. (btw I didn't mention this earli...

Re: Calling XYplorer from external app stopped working

Another thing I noticed is that after trying to open a folder from Opera (maybe more than once), the procedure not only fails, but the XYplorer window keeps being brought to the front while I'm trying to work in other programs. The desired folder still doesn't open, though. Do you think this means t...
