I just installed the latest beta version of xy and Windows Defender got its knickers in a twist. Detected it as a severe threat and automatically quarantined it, which while being slightly annoying, is good that it is actually doing its job correctly.

Re: How can I clear this list in the move/copy/backup context menu?
Thanks, one of the unfortunate things about having something that can do as much as XY is knowing where to look to find certain settings.

Re: Folder icons are not displayed correctly, almost all of them are white, only a small part of them are correct.
Has anyone figured out what the issue might be?
It's been nearly 20 days and at least 3 Windows updates but it's still happening.
Is it 100% a Windows issue and not an issue with something XYplorer might be doing??

I don't plan on rolling back, it's a bit of an inconvenience, but I'll just live with it until it gets fixed.

Just adding that I'm running the latest Windows Insider build, and I've had this issue for the last 2-3 days. I actually came here to report or see if anyone else had reported it.

Re: Looking to create a button that runs a script to move files into a subfolder based on age
I just found that copy handler from searching the forum, I've been using it for a while with no issues.
Ticking that checkbox and using the new script seems to be working now though. Thanks.

Re: Looking to create a button that runs a script to move files into a subfolder based on age
Thanks for the script. There is one issue that I'm not sure if it's possible to work around. I have teracopy set up as my default copy handler, when I run the script I'm getting a message "Teracopy failed. Press OK to try with Custom Copy." When I click OK a file move then I get the same e...

Looking to create a button that runs a script to move files into a subfolder based on age
I take a lot of screenshots for my work. I'm looking to have a button that moves all images (or all files I guess) into subfolders based on dates. Screenshots > _older > file 1 - 30 days ago > file 2 - 21 days ago > last 7 days > file 3 - 14 days ago > file 4.png - 2 days ago > file 5.png - today I'...

Support for Linux folder in Windows11
Windows 11 shows a Linux folder in the sidebar of Windows Explorer if you have any distros installed via WSL2.

Is it possible to make a script that will move selected files into folders with the same name?
So if I had the following files:
and I selected them all it would make (in this case) three folders and move the files inside the folder
Code: Select all
File1.txt
File2.mp3
File3.docx
Code: Select all
File1
>File1.txt
File2
> File2.mp3
File3
>File3.docx

Xyplorer hanging/not responding for 15/20 seconds on startup
I'm running version 21.20.0200 on Windows 10.
Whenever I open Xyplorer from a being completely closed it takes 15/20 seconds before I'm able to interact with it.
I'm sure there is more information people will need to help me, I'm just not entirely sure what information is needed.

Ctrl clicking on root to collapse all folders in the tree
I know you can ctrl click on drives/folders etc and collapse the folders beneath them, what I'd like is to be able to ctrl click on the root computer icon at the top of the tree and have all expanded folders collapsed recursively.
