Re: UNC paths handled different than local paths in drop-down lists
On second thought, I find the whole Configuration | General | Controls & More | Dropdown lists | Select all on item change not very practical. Why should you select an item in the dropdown and then replace it completely by typing? -> This setting should not be enabled by default, right? I would...

Re: UNC paths handled different than local paths in drop-down lists
First of all, you can generally stop this auto-selection by unticking this: Configuration | General | Controls & More | Drop-down Lists | Select all on item change Yes, there is an inconsistency, but it's elsewhere. Configuration | General | Controls & More | Auto-Complete Path Names only a...

UNC paths handled different than local paths in drop-down lists
This feels similar to my prior bug report however this one has been in XYPlorer for years. Correct: 1. Click into address bar Begin typing: C:\t Entry "C:\temp\" appears in drop down list. Press down-arrow to select the item. Address bar now reads: "C:\temp\" Cursor moves to end ...

Re: Shift + Right Click - Deselects all but one item
Ah, got it! This recent change caused it: v24.90.0122 - 2023-09-12 20:39 * Quick Search: Now, if there is a selector, the pattern after the selector will be preselected in the search term retained from the previous search. This way it's much easier to search for another pattern using the same selec...

Re: Shift + Right Click - Deselects all but one item
Cannot reproduce. Describe it with words please. I've been trying to determine the exact conditions in which it occurs, and it may not relate to the selected files. Here's what I've seen, as these two tasks get different results: 1. Enter text into the "find files" name field. Click into ...

Re: Shift + Right Click - Deselects all but one item
Explorer doesn't do this, and it changed sometime in the past month or two, it used to work fine. Ctrl+Right Click - Selection Retained Shift + Right Click - Single item becomes selected. Ah yes, fix on the way. Excellent, Thank you! I do not know if it's related, but if I go from a selection...

Re: Shift + Right Click - Deselects all but one item
Here's a gif: What app did you use in your gif to show keys and buttons being pressed? I tried them "all", but I don't remember testing one which shows the icon of an active window. The tool displaying the presses/etc is a fork of the original Carnac, super useful. There is a setting for ...

Does look like it has potential. Hopefully that'll make it easier to fix.xy123 wrote: ↑23 Sep 2023 00:29 I think when Don fixed "my" bug, "your" bug came to life. Read this: viewtopic.php?t=26529

Re: Renaming operations - Allow "\" to create sub-directory
That \ or any variation ..\ ... isn't suited for searching / replacing. It's for moving Again, use your text editor via my script that WirlyWirly mentioned or a script or a regex rename... After enabling "Allow move on rename", why can't I replace one word with another worth that has a tr...

Re: Renaming operations - Allow "\" to create sub-directory
\ is already taken by Configuration | General | Sort and Rename | Rename | [x] Allow move on rename So use a script / regex rename Thanks for pointing out that setting. However, if I try a rename of: 2022/2022\ on the list below, nothing changes: 2022-03-02 - Bob's Meeting - Bob3.docx 2022-03-02 - ...

Renaming operations - Allow "\" to create sub-directory
I have a a few thousand files that need to be sorted into sub-directories by part of their file name. e.g. 2022-03-02 - Bob's Meeting - Bob1.docx 2022-03-02 - Bob's Meeting - Bob3.docx 2022-03-02 - Bob's Meeting - Bob7.docx 2021-02-05 - Bob's Meeting - Jill2.docx 2021-02-05 - Bob's Meeting - Jill3.d...

Re: XYCopy refuses to exit. Multiple running copies. Can't be killed.
Each instance of XYcopy (the background copy handler) should be visible as an icon in your task bar. If you click on it it will jump to the foreground and you should see the confirmation prompts. But I'd generally recommend to exclude Delete operations from the background operations here: Configura...
