Recent upgrade question 24.60
So I've just upgraded to 24.60 recently and noticed I now have: Older: Contents64.exe, ContextMenu64.exe. and Newer: XY64contents.exe, XY64ctxmenu.exe. I using the portable version and usually upgrade by just overwriting with the files from the upgrade package. So should I just delete the older files?

Re: Handling very long paths
The Windows shell only supports paths up to 259 characters. So the shell context menu will not show for longer paths (and also all other shell functions will fail). XYplorer itself allows paths up to 32,767 characters without problems (that's the NTFS limit). But it works in windows explorer? Both ...

Re: Handling very long paths
Yes, Support overlong filenames is ticked.
When I use that (or echo which I used to test before) the full path is shown, yet it doesn't seem to get to the app.

Handling very long paths
Hi I have several files which have a very long paths (>256), when right clicking on them in XYplorer I don't get the shell context menu which I get with those files with shorter paths or when I right click on those files in windows explorer. Another related issue is with CFA, I've tried adding "...

Duplicate audio file hash
Similar in concept to the image hash, an old idea that can find new life here, its very simple, when searching for duplicate audio files ignore all meta data included in the file (e.g. id3 tags for mp3 files) hashing only the audio data, easily finding duplicates that you would otherwise miss when a...

Re: tags lost when moving nested folders
Tried that, didn't seem to solve things since I've just run into this again a few times. I'm moving (custom with verify) a folder with several nested levels under it, the last one (which is tagged) and containing the files ( and the files themselves) have long names which might be affecting this. Wh...

Re: Issue with portable device
Please search for either "phone" or "portable device" on this forum first and see if one of the numerous existing threads you find explains your situation rather than starting yet another one. Thanks but I've done that already. It's a bug since the Win10 1703 update. XYplorer's ...

Issue with portable device
I can see my phone in XYplorer but while it show the card and phone sub-folders in it, it can't list any files inside them and shows an empty view.

Re: tags lost when moving nested folders
Yes, I'm moving them, either cut and paste or paste with path.
not sure if its consistent, but as I had a few folders to move I noticed it happening and fixed the tags entries using the configuration dialogue.

Re: tags lost when moving nested folders
I wasn't aware that xyplorer can actually see portable devices (like my phone for example), the target path has a drive letter.

Re: tags lost when moving nested folders
Lets see, I'm moving folders that have upto two levels deep subfolders with files in the last folder that folder is the one tagged, the entire thing is about 5 levels deep from root; I'm moving those folders into a another folder on an external drive which is 2-3 levels deep from root.

It seems that when I'm moving folders with tagged sub-folders the tags are not updated to the new path.
