Re: Default Image Viewer
Problem SOLVED !! After some more Googling, I happened to come accross a small utility called "File Association Fixer" . Downloaded it (it's portable so no installation needed) and just set it to fix the .jpg extension and voila! I got the "How Do You Want To Open This File" dial...

Re: Default Image Viewer
Thanks. Have checked the registry keys you suggested and they're all fine. Both .jpg and .jpeg are included in the Local Machine settings for Image Eye and the Classes Root is set as Image Eye too.

Re: Default Image Viewer
I had already done all you suggested through control panel rather than the Windows 10 settings app. I have now discovered however that the problem seems to be confined to .jpg images. It doesn't ocurr with .png images for example. Strange! Yes, Image Eye does seem to be a good viewer. I'll keep it f...

Re: Default Image Viewer
Thanks klownboy. I suspected it must be a Windows 10 rather than an XY issue. I had the same issue with Mozilla Thunderbird, but managed to get around that by tinkering with it's internal settings. Images still won't open in that with my preferred choice though, but will with the standard Windows 10...

Re: Default Image Viewer
OK - I've done all that and yes, a new folder was created in the appdata/roaming location. Tried again, but repeatedly with the same result.

Re: Default Image Viewer
Highend: The XY version is 17.00.0100. I am a little bit techy, but not greatly so. How do I try the ::fresh; {Enter} suggestion?
Ralph: The path for my newly set current default viewer is: C:\Program Files\Image Eye\Image Eye.exe, how do I try your suggestion in the XY configuration?

Re: Default Image Viewer
Thanks for the reply klownboy. I have now also installed ImageEye and set is the default viewer. However, just as before, double clicking an image from within XYPlorer repeatedly results in the "how do you want open this file" dialogue, even though the IamageEye icon is shown next to the f...

Default Image Viewer
I have recently installed XYPlorer on my 64bit Windows 10 (Build 1607) machine. There seems to be a problem with the default application for viewing images. Everytime I try to open a .jpg image from within XYplorer, the "How Do You Want To Open This File" dialog opens (see screenshot). No ...
