Re: Dateformat specifiers
Ahh, thank you. I was wondering, because there is different software offering even more options including timezone and stuff.

Dateformat specifiers
Does anyone know which specifiers are available to define a DateTime-Format (<date yyyy-mm-dd>)? Are there just the six letters available that are mentioned in the help file (y,m,d,h,n,s) or are there any further options (apart from ISOWeek)? EDIT: w does seem to work as well, though it's not mentio...

Re: Problem with drag & drop in Win 11
Quick question, though: why is there no way to select the update channel? Like if I want to include beta updates or not when XYplorer updates itself... it's much easier than finding the beta section, and I've seen this design implemented in other software as well. You always had the option to go: H...

Re: Working with XYplorer
I guess, what he meant was, If you take the "whats new" page (which contains all the features added sometime) and only take the features (removing "bug fixing", version info and "compiled with this song") and sort the page by alphabet, you'd end up with a quite solid fe...

Re: copy and paste from XYplorer to Win Explorer
Just curious... does it work that way if you don't use XYplorer? Because it looks like copying that way (CTRL-C, CTRL-V) might not work at all if you try to copy to your smartphone. I think the windows integration of those types of external storage (i.e. smartphones in data transfer mode) are not wo...

Re: Need Help - Error 9 Codes Now Daily Occurrence ...
Well... That might be true for Folder Paths and even Volume Names, but I can't see how that can apply to the Documents Folder (in the Tree) or Desktop and Documents Folders (in the second pane)...

Re: Select multiple tabs with Ctrl and Shift keys
IMHO not necessary... If there was a better reason for it apart from just moving, cloning or closing tabs... maybe... but just for these operations... Best case I'd see a use in closing multiple tabs... but moving or cloning... nope.

Re: Joker Tabs
I'm sorry to say this but instead of developing joker tabs why not give importance to other features which are more often used and concentrate on primary features only.Proper use of time. All work and no play makes Don a dull boy. Don is the only developer of this awesome tool. Though working on &q...
Re: Group By!
Any change of heart? Group By still my only issue xyplorer. It's not like a "change of heart" would be the relevant thing here... As Don already mentioned: He's got a huge list of features (and a small list of bugs) he wants/needs to adress... Combined with the fact that Don is the only c...

Re: Miscellaneous - Questions
OK, I see now what you mean. With SortSecondaryByExactDate=0 the time part of the date is totally ignored. Therefore Created column gets scrambled when secondary-sorting by Ext. Not nice, I agree. Not easy to fix though. I'll look into it. ... okay, I think I could handle it by employing BubbleSort...

Re: Miscellaneous - Questions
Secondary sorting (like you do with Ext ) is only possible if the primary sorting creates groups of identical items (what I called "blocks"). But your primary sorting by Created does not create any blocks since all the created dates are different . Isn't the date blocked? If I understand ...

Re: What can Virtual Folders do?
I'm currently experimenting with a syntax extension that allows to pack some switches into the VFO definition: vi:[|space for switches|][the main definition] For example, this could be a way to explicitly allow zombies in <get list_recentlyopenedfiles> (if we default to not allowing zombies): vi:|z...

Re: What can Virtual Folders do?
It's a bit like zombies in the paperfolder... They can make sense and they can not. Maybe give :vi an option to show them but by default turn them off? This does make sense. The nature of virtual folders does kind of make you believe the files/folders displayed should be currently existing... Then ...

Re: What is the best way to integrate OneDrive in XYplorer ?
It's probably not easy to phrase it in a better way, but:
"Is feature X high or rather low on your priority list?"
That's probably a better way to phrase such questions...

Re: How to Random Pic from inside all folder
Not if it's unclear how the subfolders are named... true...
Shouldn't that be possible if Don were to enable wildcards/regexes as paths?
That would be bad for performance, though, I guess...
