Re: make user role mandatory in title bar

There's nothing that keeps you from adding this to your title bar template!

Re: How to set a user button to show folder content in pop-up menu?

Has the OP discovered "Hover Box" yet?
It seems to me this is about replicating the same behavior with a button.

I don't think the mention of politeness was meant as an invitation for sarcasm?!

Re: open in new tab

Welcome to the forum.

Shift + Left Click achieves the same and doesn't break standard behavior for double click.

Re: dual window for details view

I'm just a long time XY user and gave you my opinion on your wish based on years of reading wishes on this forum and the responses from Don (the developer) to them. Usually it helps if you can make a use case that shows some benefits for more users than just yourself. For the more specific wishes yo...

Re: dual window for details view

Sorry but I think this falls for me into the category of too smart/too specific, you could script something like this though.

Re: Breadcrumb should follow Alt-Left....

Re: Thumbnails - will not display all Thumbnails

No it doesn't answer your question but the "old and unsupported" might hint at the developer rather spending his time on fixing bugs in current versions for paying customers. Fair enough don't you think? As nothing has changed in XYPlorer Free in a very long time you might want to look at other chan...

Re: rare cut/copy quirk

Wouldn't you want some indication that some of the files you put on the clipboard couldn't be processed as expected?
What if the files were deleted accidentally?

Too much smartness IMO.

You're aware that there have been 6 beta versions published between the last two posts of this thread?

Re: How to search for exact name.

1. Can't confirm as I haven't found an easy test that's slow enough.
2. The status bar shows "x out of y items" on the left side.

@aurumdigitus - Yes I was aware of your dislike (or whatever we want to call it) of scripting but as highend just proved, there are scripters out there eager to help.

Re: Picture Conversion

What's wrong with using one of the command line versions of tools like Irfanview or ImageMagick and write a one-liner that does this trick?
While your wish is very specific and might be simple to accomplish, I'm sure there are hundreds more out there that would be just as legitimate, don't you think?
