ah, i misunderstood your initial response. i have disabled the 'paste to selected list folder' setting and that does appear to have resolved the issue. thank you nas8e9.

yes i have that configuration enabled. i've tried uninstalling and re-installing xyplorer but to no avail. i've now gone back to an earlier vs (10.70) that i had previously kept and it works fine, so something has changed in the interim. thanks for the quick response though nas8e9

copy + paste
with the latest version 10.90 when i cut a file from one drive using context menu and paste it in the directory of another drive there is a glitch. instead of transferring to the selected folder the file will end up in a sub folder that i have not selected. when i try removing it from the sub-folder...
