Thanks.
I also learned that this can be done with voidtools's Everything search.

Highlighting folders that match the contents of a text file?
Let's say I have a text file with the following list: alfa bravo charlie And I have a file directory with the following folders: alfa bravo charlie delta echo Is there a way I could run the text file through XYplorer and have it only highlight the folder names that match those in the text file (alfa...

Thumbnails not generating normally in 20.10
Thumbnails don't seem to generate automatically in a folder with a a lot of images in 20.10 unless you leave the tab and go back to it.

Re: Thumbnails regenerating despite being cached
Yes, I am using the latest version.
The strange thing is that the thumbnails will stay put immediately after they are generated, but when I go to the folder later, XYplorer will attempt to regenerate all of the thumbnails again. I don't know what could be triggering that.

Re: Thumbnails regenerating despite being cached
Yes, the settings are correct.
I don't know what the exact trigger is, but XYplorer will inevitably generate thumbnails for every folder/file again.

Thumbnails regenerating despite being cached
I am experiencing this with a particularly large folder that contains over 4,000 subfolders. I have tried deleting the cache file, but that doesn't seem to help.

Files copied from OneDrive do not maintain dates
"Preserve item dates" doesn't work with files that are copied from the OneDrive folder. The date is preserved if the files are cut, however.
Is there any way to maintain the original dates under a copy operation, or is this a quirk with Windows 10/OneDrive?

Renaming a file can result in an incorrect timestamp
There seems to be a bug where a renamed file will adopt the creation date of a deleted file that had the same name. For instance, let's say C:\ has two files named "Foxes" and "Foxes Two." When "Foxes" is deleted and "Foxes Two" is renamed to "Foxes," the RENAMED file will adopt the creation date of...

Custom "Tasks" in Taskbar Menu?
https://images.techhive.com/images/article/2016/03/0407-pin-app-100650893-large.jpg I've been thinking about how convenient it'd be if the user could add program shortcuts and other "tasks" to the menu that pops up when you right click on XYPlorer in the taskbar. But is this even possible? (I under...

Generate video thumbnails using poster images from IMDb?
I am looking for a script that will scan the filename of a movie, pull the poster image from IMDb, and then embed that image as the file's thumbnail.
Can this even be done solely through scripting?

Keeping a program on top?
I think this is dependent on Windows settings, but is there a way to keep another program in focus after you click and hold a file in XYplorer (so it can be dragged into that program)? This is what I'm going through: 1. Open program using XYplorer catalog shortcut. 2. Program opens on top of XYplore...

Re: XYplorer hangs when displaying/generating video thumbnails
I managed to fix it by installing a third-party thumbnail generator, Media Preview. I'm not sure why the native Windows one stopped working, as I have never updated or altered the video codecs on my machine. One difference I have noticed is that I can no longer clear/reset my video thumbnails using ...
