Re: Project XYplorer on Linux: 15/03 New Video!

I am posting here because this appears to be the main linux thread. I am continuing to find XYPlorer valuable in Linux, even though not all of its features are working. Has anyone who also uses Linux had any success with getting the preview panel to work decently? It works well enough for graphics (...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux: 15/03 New Video!

No problem and fully understood. But when you say Crossover, I am still wondering if the problem is mine alone (in Crossover) or whether people on other systems using Wine or Playonlinux with different settings are able to make it work. If anyone is running it successfully in Linux I would appreciat...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux: 15/03 New Video!

When I checked that setting the box was x'd, so I un-xed it. The result, when I then tried to drag a file was: Runtime error 460 - Invalid Clipboard format. and the program closed. I then tried to play with the options underneath that mostly with no result, but one time I did get: Run-time error &qu...

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux: 15/03 New Video!

Well THAT's another cool feature I had not discovered! manual sorting! wow! Unfortunately that is not the problem. And actually, when I do click manual sorting, manual sorting works great! But when I click it off, nothing -- I am getting no evidence whatsoever that clicking and dragging works in any...

Re: File Managers

Highend (or any other recent XYPlorer user on Linux) are you able to get dragging and dropping of files to work in Linux? I posted about my problem doing so here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11058&p=141325&hilit=linux#p141325

Re: Project XYplorer on Linux: 15/03 New Video!

Maybe I should start a new thread but this seems to be the most on-topic place: I have installed the latest XYPLORER (17.00.0200) in a new install of Crossover (15.2) and XYPLorer starts well (well, except for that error message that we can click through). The reason for my post is that I am not abl...

Re: Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office f

This is strictly FWIW, and I apologize if this is off topic, not relevant, already answered, or offensive in any way. But it seems when I was cruising the forum I saw a suggestion or question about how xyplorer might go about integrating totalcommander-like file viewing functions could be integrated...

Re: Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office f

Thank you for the suggestions - I will try to reinstall and if I succeed I will report back. Perhaps the problem is that I am using Office 2003

Re: Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office f

I will try that, but you are in fact referring to Windows XP, or to later versions of Windows?

Re: Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office f

Well bingo that certainly answered my question. Shellexview shows that I have Adobe PDF Preview handler but not much else - certainly not Microsoft office or any other office software. I am off to see what I can find about adding preview handler capability to Windows XP --- ok after reading it appea...

Re: Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office f

Thanks very much for the reply. I am running Windows XP 32 bit and all of my programs are 32 bit. The graphic previews seem to work fine, as do pdfs (albeit a little slowly). Also MP3 files start playing automatically as well. As far as I can tell no .xls file or .rtf file ever displays, but curious...

Requirements for docked preview pane viewing of office files

I am a lifetime licensee who is one of those who is excited to get this feature, but I seem to be experiencing problems in getting previews of my common "office" files - with extensions doc and xls. I have office 2003 installed and use doc and xls files every day. Is there a trick to getti...
