Agreed. It should just be close to PCRE as possible, in my opinion.

Re: Duplicate Tab?

I created a new user script for

Code: Select all

tab("new");
Which does the trick. Assigned Ctrl+Alt+T to it.

Curious if there's a built-in/non-scripting way to do it.

You mean right click on a tab and then "New Tab"? It's not duplicating the tab. It's opening a new to to the default location (which for me is C:\).

How exactly do you duplicate a tab?

Bump.

This is small thing that annoys me every day.

Re: Better RegEx Support

+1 as well.

Don't know if this is compatible, but TextPad uses the Boost regex engine, which has some lookbehind issues, but is otherwise an excellent PCRE-like engine.

Blog post based on my response in this forum thread, regarding how to use XY to easily access your favorite folders.

Re: Must have these features

Better way to switch among Favorite locations, like a separate toolbar use the catalog. I use both custom toolbar buttons (CTB) and the catalog. Here's the CTB that lists my favorite folders on the C:\ drive when left-clicked, and goes to the root when right-clicked: Snip: CTB 1 XYplorer 15.00.0104...

Re: Text Editors

Yeah, 6 releases in February is promising. Definitely worth the huge amount of time I devote to write the 'almost' complete ST3 manual. @aliteralmind: Sorry, but most ST3' weakness in your Worpress post are not correct, that's normal due to lack of documentation. exampe: - Macro are editable (*.sub...

Re: Capitalize first character in file names, w/ regexp repl

Anyway, I just added a switch /u to just uppercase the first letter. This functionality was missing an easy way AFAIK. SWEET!!! :appl:   :ugeek:  These are all the related switches in TextPad (and the Boost regex engine, which it uses): \l - Causes the next character from the f...

Re: Capitalize first character in file names, w/ regexp repl

I'm trying to rename files like "twoThings.java" to "TwoThings.java", so passing the entire string won't work. I only want to upper (only want to *change*) the first character.

Maybe if I parse the string and then pass the first character to recase.

I'll give that a try.

Capitalize first character in file names, w/ regexp replace?

Code: Select all

^([a-z]) > $1
This does nothing; it changes the first character to itself.

With regexes in TextPad, I can capitalize the next character with:

Code: Select all

^([a-z]) > \u$1
Is there any way to do this with XY's RegExp Rename? My goal is to capitalize the first character in each selected filename.

Seems like Windows has one of its inexplicable file locks. Perhaps logging out or restarting your computer will help?

Re: Scripting cmd for "purpose" locking w/ tab & bkgd colors

Haven't had the time to try your icon suggestions. I did notice something important related to this suggestion (but unrelated to icons): When the pane is not focused, the tab's background reverts to white. The background "boxing" color is ignored...which sort of defeats the whole purpose of what I'm...
