Worked (on the second run and thereafter)! Any idea why recent versions appear to require it? I certainly haven't ever modified it.

Re: Sluggish
What happens when you copy your latest test folder (with the 199 items) onto a local drive and perform the same test with this one instead? Doesn't hang. If it works now: Configuration | General | Safety Belts, Network | Network | [x] Cache network servers Is it ticked? It's unchecked, as are all o...

Re: Sluggish
So, what are you searching? What kind of search is this? It's the same search I've been doing at least weekly for many years. It finds files over a set of paths on my home network created/modified since the last such search. You can see from the screenshot I posted earlier that it has completed bef...

Untick these: Configuration | Information | File Info Tips & Hover Box | Show file info tips Configuration | Information | File Info Tips & Hover Box | Show Hover Box Any difference? They were already unchecked. It's not just clicking on a file that causes the hang. Clicking on a tab in the...

Re: Sluggish
Oh, I guess I missed that the first time I read it: So the hang is not caused by the left click, but the right click? . Sorry if it wasn't clear. All I have to do is left-click on Downloads.txt. So the sequence that causes the 30 second hang is: 1. Start XYplorer. 2. Run the search. 3. Left-click D...

Re: Sluggish
Hanging. OK, the screenshot is after performing the search and clicking Downloads.txt. The program has hung with the Busy-Working cursor, but it's not in the screenshot, of course. If you need to see that, I took photos in that state and also after clicking the title bar, after Windows appended &qu...

Re: Sluggish
The hang is triggered by "select the relevant hash text file(s)"? Yes. I Left-Click one of the files in the top-pane, so that I can Ctrl-Click the other relevant files, and then I Right-Click to open them from the context menu. I have several of these .txt files based on my groupings, lik...

Re: Sluggish
Case in point, I have a two pane configuration, and I use the bottom pane to conduct a search. Then I load a column set consisted of MD5 and full path, and I refresh the MD5 column. After pressing Ctrl+Shift+C to copy the hash/filename pairs, I select the relevant hash text file(s) from the top pane...

Re: Refresh Column when hashes are involved needs work
Just tried this in 23.60, and it's much improved. Thanks.

Re: Refresh Column when hashes are involved needs work
Appreciate that! I hope some day it will be possible to implement a prompt for when the column refresh is to be canceled for any reason. I use XYplorer to help maintain a hash database for my data drives, and recomputing the hashes can take the better part of a day. I'm always very careful not to in...

Re: Refresh Column when hashes are involved needs work
I do not recall the long periods of unresponsiveness. In any case, it could really use the improvements I suggested. While it's usable for this purpose, it's inconvenient that the program goes dead for long periods of time, and it requires a degree of caution not to accidentally lose hours of comput...

Refresh Column when hashes are involved needs work
v 23.40 (lifetime), Windows 11 This started within the last few months, but Refresh Column causes the program to go unresponsive for long periods of time when computing hashes on long lists of large files. I used to be able to copy partial results to the clipboard while the operation was ongoing to ...

Re: Moving files to new location on network drive doesn't update panes
Thank you. Works. Is there a good reason for it to be unchecked by default in this day and age?

Moving files to new location on network drive doesn't update panes
I'm moving files from one location to another on the same network drive, and I have panes opened to each folder. It doesn't matter if I drag/drop or cut/paste, neither pane updates after I perform a move. These are (unfortunately) single files I'm moving, and I have a bunch of them. This is 22.40.02...
