Re: WLX support to preview and print almost any file type?

IMO an open plugin architecture would allow people like myself to fully tailor XYplorer to our needs. More useful plugins could be posted online for others to download and tweak. As an analogy, just imagine now days a browser without plugin support? Since file managers cover such a broad spectrum of...

Silent printing using command line arguments

Maybe I've missed this part but does XYplorer allow to print silently (without any prompts)? If not, I think this would be great to easily batch print different document formats in one go.

WLX support to preview and print almost any file type?

Any plans on adding WLX plugin support? Doing so, we could easily preview most file types (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, XLS, SVG, PPTX, MSG, etc.) without having the native apps installed (Office, WordPerfect...). Fully relying on the pre-installed preview handlers really impacts the portability aspect.

Re: Note taking and information management

Since XYPlorer supports Quick View Plus, maybe there is a way to tie a search indexer with that particular viewer to display search results? I hear a common response that indexing is too heavy on system resources but it could easily be scheduled or disabled. As SammaySarkar mentioned, tags are alrea...

Re: Note taking and information management

I should have better explained myself. There are other products out there that provide note taking and organizational functionality but nothing as complete as I've outlined above. I have tried probably all of the apps in this category and there is still a gap to fill. Building on top of XYplorers po...

Note taking and information management

Hello, I've been really enjoying XYplorer for day-to-day file/folder management needs but one area that I think has room to improve is handling of vast amounts of data. I know that most would say that there are other products out there that are aimed at such audience but I think XYplorer already has...

I was thinking similar to the way Windows displays it:

I know it's asking too much, but is there a way to directly write to XLSX?

Re: Powerful internal file viewer

That is good news but please avoid utilizing Windows previews since they fully depend on the installed apps, thus completely going against the aspect of portability. Also, speed wise, through a series of tests I can conclude that uLister is much faster. Try viewing a large PDF in both. For instance,...

Re: Display NTFS permissions list with option to print & exp

I just tried the last script and it's working nicely except I would have to adjust some formatting to improve it visually.

Would it be possible to add this option in the report tab?:

Simple filter

XYplorer's visual filter is very powerful but for day to day simple filtering needs I think something similar to free FreeCommander's approach would work much better. Below is an example:

Re: Powerful internal file viewer

I am glad to see more people with similar concerns. Also, I've discovered that QVP standard only shows a fraction of file formats compared to Oracle's Outside In libraries.
However, IMO the biggest appeal is that uLister is free.

Re: Powerful internal file viewer

Is there a way to make QVP part of the portable setup? That's what I like about the uLister WLX plugin with Oracle's Outside In libraries.

Re: Display NTFS permissions list with option to print & exp

Thanks highend!
How does this script integrate with XYplorer? Is it possible to select a folder and with a toolbar button run the script on that particular folder and automatically display the generated CSV?

Re: Display NTFS permissions list with option to print & exp

@highend: thanks for that idea but I mainly need to save NTFS permissions of the current folder. Isn't there a way that XYplorer can grab that info from Windows? A simple two column output (Member Name and Type of access) with a folder path as the Title would be sufficient. I have never used XY's sc...

Display NTFS permissions list with option to print & export

Hello, Not sure how many people ran into this, but I constantly have to check NTFS permissions of shared folders and windows explorer doesn't have any way to export/print them. Also, the security tab window is so small that taking a screenshot doesn't work well if there are more than 15 lines or so....
