Is there a script command for setting and getting Folder Views? Esp for paper folders? Don't see anything in the docs.
Eg. If was want to create a paper folder from a search result, but also set it's folder view to Thumbnail view, sorted by Name.
Search found 205 matches

Re: Paper folders
Sure, but Everything doesn't have access to XY's tags and labels for filtering. So only some searches can be delegated to ES. In any case, native support would always be better in terms of streamlined workflow. While the everything script is useful, it is certainly a workaround, with a few steps tha...

Re: Do you like the new application icon?
Not a fan. I think if a more "modern" look was required, a "flat" variation of the old icon would have been better. The orange-white-black is just too iconic. I keep finding myself getting lost looking for the icon in the taskbar and browser tabs. But then, it is just an icon aft...

Re: Paper folders
Maybe not a single folder, but the result of a quicksearch of multiple folders. I have this use case as well. I wrote a script to run the quicksearch and refresh the paperfolder text file, which I run on demand. It's sort of a cache for Quicksearch, so that you don't have to run the full search esp....

Caching QuickSearch results
Is there a way to cache quicksearch results and only refresh the cache on demand?
It seems there is some sort of internal caching, because when I run the same quicksearch, the second time it's very fast. But I do it after a while, it takes the normal, full search time.

Combine Sort of Columns
Is there a way to combine the sorting of columns? Like "Sort by column 1 THEN by column 2" ? I'm trying to do a duplicate file search between two folder (Primary and Secondary, each containing subfolders). But the search results can only be sorted by EITHER the duplicate column OR another ...

Re: Where is your Address Bar Dropdown button?
Left. Because it's way less mouse travel. There nothing else all the way over there in the right (except the close button).

How to show the folder expand/collapse icons
Somehow in the past I must have hidden these, now I can't find the setting anymore.
It might have been an ini tweak.
Can someone point me in the right direction pls?

Re: include Everything (voidtools) → major speed-up! :-D
I use that script right now, because that's the best available option. But it doesn't come close to the ease, convenience and speed of a native implementation. With the scripts, you still have to open another app, do your search there, then import into XY. And if you want to modify your search, do t...

Re: include Everything (voidtools) → major speed-up! :-D
I researched this years ago and didn't find anything usable. Now I looked again and found something interesting right away: https://blogs.msmvps.com/bsonnino/2019/03/22/super-fast-file-enumeration-with-ntfs-structures/ Not easy but possible. I make a mental note. +1 for this  That would be act...

Re: Integration of Everything [voidtools]
Is there a way to call the Everything.exe ui via a script and get the search results on exit, and use THAT to create the paper folder? Since on the UI you can modify the search query and fine tune the result set in real time. Is there any plans for implementing an indexed search feature similar to E...

Re: Option to have tree view per split pane instead of only one that affects both
1. Leave the right pane (acts as TARGET) active (as in if you just worked with the right pane to paste items or such) 2. Move your eye focus to the tree view and think "...and now I have to browse to different SOURCE view in left pane" 3. Click anything on tree view to browse your "l...
