Re: How to get Catalog on Left under Tree
These layout features are brand new additions. Don't forget to take them for a test drive! You might like the new layout(s) too. I understand that they're new additions. But my #1 requirement for any file manager is the ability to have horizontal Dual Panes wide enough to let me see at once the bas...

How to get Catalog on Left under Tree
I just upgraded to version 14.20 on my Windows 7 64-bit computer. To my dismay, the Catalog is now separate from the Tree and is all the way to the right. Since I have a Dual Pane arrangement, this placement of the Catalog is NOT what I want, since it shrinks the two panes unacceptably. I went into ...

RENAME missing from right-click context menu
A short while ago I wanted to rename a file--not the extension, just the filename. I right-clicked on the name of the file (in XYplorer 14.10.0100 on Win 7 64-bit) and, to my surprise, I didn't see a Rename option. I recall that when I started to use XYplorer (not all that long ago), I learned that ...

Re: Backing Up XYplorer
@ juanita : what folder contents do you see if you enter <xydata> into the address bar and hit enter? Is it the very same seven files you initially described or is it a different set? Thanks, Filehero, Stef123, and SammaySarkar, for your replies. I do have Backup Settings on Save checked in Config,...

Backing Up XYplorer
I've been trying to figure out how to back up XYplorer (version 14.10). To my surprise, I didn't find the discussion in the User's Manual all that helpful, so I came to the forum, did a search, and found a relatively recent message that talked about using File-->Settings Special-->Backup Application...

Re: Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
I am assuming you have a nice desktop wallpaper that you don't want to clutter up with program icons? You could put your handful of shortcuts into one pop-up window, by using a launcher freeware Thanks for the suggestion, Stef123. Actually, my desktop is mostly empty by design. I already use a free...

Re: Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
Another option: Pin it to the tab bar, for instance at the left most psoition. That way you can quickly open it using <WIN>+<1> (where the number stands for the position index). Thanks, Filehero, for the suggestion. I don't think I'll use it for this, but I'll keep it in mind for the future.

Re: Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
EDIT: I'm sure you know you can most probably change the shortcut for that other program. Yes, I know that I can change the shortcut for the other program, but I have a number of programs that make use of shortcuts, and I don't have any simple ones readily available. All things considered, I think ...

Re: Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
Okay, if you trust me and virustotal, download the following exe, put in in the same location as xyplorer.exe and run it. (you'll see a new icon in the taskbar). Then double middle-click on the desktop. Wow! Thanks very much! I downloaded and ran your program. Unfortunately, it turns out there's a ...

Re: Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
Thanks, SammaySarker, for your response. I appreciate your instructions, but I do not have AutoHotKey. Since I don't know how to write scripts, I've never seen much point in installing it.

Can double-click on desktop open XYplorer?
I've only recently started to use XYplorer (currently 14.10 on Windows 7 64-bit). With the file manager I used before XYplorer, double-clicking on an empty space on the desktop would open that file manager. Is there a way I can do the same thing with XYplorer? I know that I can simply click on the s...

Re: Save Folder View isn't working
Do you have settings on exit enabled. I think XY by default has this option disabled. So you may want to check the configuration to see if that is the case. My configuration was already set to save settings on exit. You can also save settings selectively. Please check the options under the file men...
