Shredding SSD message
I just got a new computer and have transferred Xplorer2 4.4.0.1 x64 to it. When I shred a file I get a warning message saying: Shredding files on SSD media doesn't make sense; it is ineffective and reduces the write life of your drive - continue shredding anyway? The problem is that the new PC doesn...

Re: Previewing Videos
Thanks to both of you. I changed file associations to point to Windows Media Player as suggested by SammaySarkar and that resolved my problem of videos being played by some unknown full screen app when I double click on them. But XYplorer preview still does not play them. I'm not sure I want to inst...

Previewing Videos
I am continuing to evaluate XYplorer and have one (final I believe) unresolved issue. I am unable to preview videos. I have tried both .mp4 and .mov videos and neither will work. I have Windows 8.1 64 bit and both file types play if I double click on them, although they play in what appears to be a ...

Treat PDFs as a folder
Treating PDF's as a folder like in Xplorer2 would be a great addition. That way they could be viewed as part of the regular tree and contents could be added, deleted or renamed just like any regular file.

Re: Floating preview pdf and previews thumbs
Let me put myself into this very long chain of posts. I also cannot preview pdf''s nor see them in thumbs. I'm using Windows 8 64 bit and have NitroPDF installed as my .pdf viewer. The .pdf extension is tied to Nitro and double clicking the file brings it up fine. Any suggestions.

Re: Video Preview
I am working with a new PC with Windows 8.1 and admit I am struggling with it a bit. If I double click on either a .mov file or an .mp4 it plays in a full screen app and I'm not sure how to tell what program is playing it. I'm aware that I might need a codec to play a .mov in Windows Media Player, b...

Video Preview
There are video preview settings under Tools > Configuration > Preview, but I am unable to get any video files to play. I have tried both .mov and .mp4 files without success. Does XYplorer preview videos?

Ivan

File Name Search
I'm impressed with the speed of the file name search. Does XYplorer maintain an index of file names or does it just do a raw search through the disk?
Thanks,
Ivan

Multiple Instances
I am continuing to evaluate XYplorer. I am unable to disallow multiple instances. I can uncheck the "Allow multiple instances" check box in the Startup & Exit section of the configuration menu, but it does not hold. When I close & reopen XYplorer it is checked again.
Thanks,
Ivan

Dragging file drags entire folder
I am working in Windows 8.1, 64 bit. In the C:\Windows\Fonts folder, if I drag a single file to the desktop with the right mouse button and select move or copy, it moves or copies the entire folder, not the single file. I've only seen this with the fonts folder, but have been able to repeat it sever...

Confirming Deletes
I found the setting for confirming drag and drop operations, but can't find one to require confirmation of deletes. It must be there somewhere.

Re: Item missing from context menu
Thanks to all. I don't usually use betas, but selecting the Show the 64-bit context menu option seems to have resolved the problem.

Re: Item missing from context menu
I have 9.20, downloaded yesterday. I just checked their site again and that is the current version.
As a follow-up question, does this mean that Xyplorer has some issues on 64 bit systems?
