Re: Open desktop folders in separate window
Thanks. Is there a way to control whether the new tabs open next to the existing one or not? I have "Never combine" in the Taskbar Properties menu, but it doesn't affect the behavior. (In fact, if I open more than one, all are stuck together, so I can't even drag it along the taskbar.)

Re: Open desktop folders in separate window
Why would I want to unassign XY as the default file manager? I want it as the default. Isn't there a setting to have it open a separate instance each time a desktop folder is double-clicked? Even a separate tab would be okay. Is this in the paid version but not the free one? I could live with the na...

Re: Open desktop folders in separate window
Thanks, but it doesn't seem to do that...even for WinExplorer, let alone XY. Which options were you thinking of? They're different in Win7 from XP.

Re: Explorer Replacement
Although this is an old thread, for future reference, it is possible to get the XP File Save dialog in Win7. Classic Shell ( http://www.classicshell.net/ ) lets you customize parts of Win7 to look like XP--the Start menu and button, IE, and Win Explorer. It just adds a toolbar to WinE and isn't anyw...

Open desktop folders in separate window
If I have XY open and I double-click a folder on the desktop, the focus goes to that folder in the open version of XY. Is it possible to have it emulate previous versions of Windows and open in a new window, preferably with the left navigation pane closed?

Re: Default file manager issue
I haven't moved it. But if I check the Set as default box and then try to open a folder, I get the error message above. If I uncheck the box, I don't. Any other ideas why this might be happening?

Re: Default file manager issue
Do I need to use the installer version vs. the zipped version, or does just checking the box on the Config page do it? I'm trying to figure out how to designate XY as the default and still be able to open folders without getting that error message.

Default file manager issue
In Win7, if I set XY as the default file manager in Config > Shell Integration and then try to open a folder, I get this "Application not found" error message. If I uncheck XY as the default file mgr., folders open with no problem. Any idea why? XY doesn't make any changes to the registry,...

Re: Help file doesn't open in Configuration pane
I don't think it was the focus, but I rebooted and it's okay now, so I guess we'll never know. Thanks anyway.

Re: Add "Apply" button to Configuration pane...
I'm not a programmer, but doesn't he have to specifically tell the pane to close after the OK button is pressed? In that case, couldn't he just remove that command?

Re: Add "Apply" button to Configuration pane...
OK, apparently it's not readily possible for technical reasons. Then how about having the pane stay open when we click OK and adding a Close button? Actually, we don't even really need a Close button--we could just click the X in the upper right corner, though a button would be a little more elegant...

Add "Apply" button to Configuration pane...
so the pane will stay open after we click OK. If we wait to go through all the categories before we click OK, something could happen and we would lose all our selections and have to start over. And if we click OK after every few categories, the pane closes and we have to keep reopening it.

Help file doesn't open in Configuration pane
I just installed this in Win7--looks like a great program. However, when I set preferences in the Configuration pane, if I click the Help button at the lower left, nothing happens.
