I hope I can explain this better. Here goes.
If I am in a 'Tab' (5th one from left) and its listing shows film files, running a film from there (double left mouse click) sometimes does not run the film but exits the 'Tab' and opens the 1st 'Tab' in the 'Tab' row listing.
