Re: Idea: Fixed folders on top of list view

Thank you jaywalker32 for proving that there can be a need for such a thing. My issues with the "solutions" that were mentioned before: Anything that has to do with the tree is useless for me, because I don't use the tree most of the time. Anything that has to do with the catalogue, tree, ...

Idea: Fixed folders on top of list view

Hi Don, Just an idea for brainstorming: What if the user could fix folders to the top of the list view? Meaning, if the user was to set a folder to "fixed to top of view" then it would be taken out of the normal sorting sequence and always be display at the top of the list view while its l...

unexpected results moving overlong files by drag & drop

Hi Don, when I move a file from one overlong location path to another overlong location path via drag & drop (I only consciously tested it with two overlong paths), it seems that XY converts the file name to the "short path" version, saving the file name in the new location in the &quo...

If you use Session Manager viewtopic.php?t=8691 then you can choose your own session title and have it also displayed in the title bar.

unnecessary UAC / admin notification un update

Hi Don, i run a portable XY in a non-UAC protected path. When updating XY I still get the notification in the attached image. This is not a big problem but an unncessary glitch making me have to move the mosue and click on extra time unnecessarily. Besides it could also confuse inexperienced users. ...

SC: What is currently the best way for error handling?

Hi all, see subject line. e.g. is it meanwhile possible to catch errors? (I did not find anything like that.) Or do I really have to check every state of the system and every input that I want to process beforehand in order to avoid error messages? I am not sure if this is possible in all circumstan...

v28.00.0300: dragging an item w/ overlong file path to Outlook crashes XY

Hi Don, when I drag an item with an overlong file path into a new email in Outlook (so that it should be attached), then XY chrashes without notice. The XY window simply disappears. I understand that the process of attaching the file to the email might not work with Outlook because of the overlong f...

For me, 64 works fine. I'd suggest you give it a whirl before jumping back. Maybe it will work fine for you already as well.

XY merch

Hi all, Hi Don, In the recent weeks, I thought I had read about the idea of XY merch in the forums and I can't get it out of my head. E.g., I would really like a coffee or tea cup with an XY logo (old version). A towel would also be nice or some pencils or other stuff. Anyone here, who would also li...

confirm, the xyplorer64_28.00.0100.exe seems to be installing XY 28.00.0008, ending in an endless update loop if auto-check for updates is activated.

Re: XYplorer64.chm does not work

I solved it.

Turns out, I had a "#" character in my path and the chm interpreter did not like that.
I now changed the # to an underline (_) and now it works as expected.
