Have a look at the image it shows sorted list and inserted items with "Group.ico".
Icon file is also contained in zip file.

LEFT click one of your "empty white spaces" then RIGHT click then press shift + del.
This should remove it . Repeat on other "empty white spaces".

This is not an ideal solution , it uses restart without saving .
