Re: How to Reset XYplorer to Factory Defaults?
Thank you. but be forewarned to carefully select "Go to Application DATA folder" and NOT "Go to Application folder". I had that negative experience whereby following the given procedure on the wrong folder deleted my xyplorer.ini file and required that I find my saved [Register] ...

Re: CTB to toggle 64-bit context menu
Greetings,
On my system, XYplorer has the 32-bit right click menu showing by default, with an option to show the 64-bit menu.
Is this not how your system works?

Greetings,
Suggestion:
If there are more than 16 items in a menu drop-down list; when you reach the bottom of the list the entire list could scroll until the end of the list is reached. doc

Re: overwrite on rename & created date
Greetings,
I agree that none of the dates should change with a rename.
A reasoned argument could be made for MODIFIED, but since File Explorer doesn't change it I would rather XYP did not either. Doc

Re: Info Panel Hex View ASCII is cut off
Greetings, @Sammy - I was already in ASCII: Hex: mode. The hex display has ASCII columns to the right side of the hex dump. @Don - Yes I run my display at 150%. I do not run the info panel WIDE, but right now all looks normal even with LARGE FONT selected. I will try to gather better background info...

Re: Working with XYplorer
Greetings: I am a native English speaker, have some experience doing technical writing, am retired with little regular activity. I know that I get very detailed in whatever I do. I understand the concept of syntax, but I have no experience in script writing, but I have written some CP/M bios code (8...

Info Panel Hex View ASCII is cut off
Greetings - long time gone, now need the experts:
Tried and failed search help.
I even switched to SMALL FONT, but that didn't reveal the right hand ASCII display.
What setting determines the size and type of mono-spaced font used for HEX view?

Re: Usage?: tag vs label vs extra column for MovieYear meta
@Flux 1. Thank You, your snippet works. (I have yet to work through the snippet code.) 2.I had to try both the Date Taken and Date script (*.*) custom column as Date Taken supposedly uses camera sourced (meta?) data that is somehow part of the file or filename. I guessed you used the year in the fil...

Re: Usage?: tag vs label vs extra column for MovieYear meta
Thank You Flux. Sorry for the delay; no good excuse as I'm easily distracted... At the moment my eyes are not co-operating; must use reverse video to minimize the glare caused by the large white areas. (Tip: DON'T AGE, but if you must, do it well.) I saved your post, and will try it when seeing is l...

Usage?: tag vs label vs extra column for MovieYear meta data
Greetings of the season (as appropriate): I'm a compulsive collector of movies-to-be-watched then discarded. Since my media file sources usually include the (presumptive) year of release in the filename, I have access to that file-content meta-data, but not in a sort-friendly manner. As I haven't br...

Re: Sort folders apart
Greetings: I hate to be late to the party, but I have folders NOT sorted apart, but force any file or folder to the top of the list by having an exclamation point (!) as the first character of its name. Very easy and no scripts required (unless the presence of the punctuation mark bothers you). Doc

Re: Deleting inaccessible files.
@Marco Thank you for the link, but I'm going to try WinHex to see if I can rename the files to make them capable of deletion. Hopefully they will show on a dir listing.

Lifetime lic not follow chg to installer version
Greetings: I began my XYp relationship when I thought I would make extensive use of it on a USB stick, so I licensed my portable installation. Now I find myself having never used it away from my desktop so my recent upgrade to 14.50.200 took the form of the installer version. As I did notice the rec...
