Re: Visual filter box?
OK, so a cutesy text box isn't there yet, but it is on the roadmap and practically every benefit that text box would bring is already implemented in a different way. That Visual Filter line was indeed showing up for me - I was just over looking it. Those are some good options to know about. I enable...

Re: Visual filter box?
Thanks for the confirmation! Was afraid I'd missed it in the help file and my forum searches.
It's not a huge deal. It'd just be a nice visual reminder. At least the toolbar button indicates that a filter is active, even if it doesn't show the details.

Visual filter box?
I love the Visual Filter (ctrl+J).
I'd love to replace the Toolbar button for this with a small text box. Any way of doing that?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Hide the tree?
Ah! The Window menu! I just knew it had to be under "View" somewhere, but it wasn't. Thank you!

Hide the tree?
Seems like this should be easy, but my search-fu is failing. How does one hide/disable the folder-tree which appears on the left hand side of XYplorer?

Re: News / RSS
I don't want to derail this onto a conversation on FB, but I will say that I dropped my account a long time ago. And watching RSS feeds for software updates is my preferred method too. I think RSS is a fairly simple markup language that's usually delivered via HTTP, so I'll bet you're 90% there to h...

Re: News / RSS
I just noticed this too! I think there were 2 RSS feeds and one has been fixed and the other hasn't. On the outer most page, www.xyplorer.com, there's currently this broken-by-Facebook "link" element that I've been using in my RSS reader: link rel="alternate" type="applicati...

Re: File Managers
I'm not completely sure what live filters are, but weren't they part of v9.9.x ? From http://www.xyplorer.com/whatsnew.php : What's new in 9.90.1100? Released 15-Jun-2011 Progress Dialog. Backup operations now come with a progress dialog featuring the ability to pause/resume copying and detailed rep...

Re: File Managers
My problem's solved. I feel kinda like I hijacked someone's thread, and if an admin wants to move this little sub-thread elsewhere for housekeeping purposes, I've got no problem with that. Turns out that XYplorer handles long paths very nicely - but for copying purposes you need to tell it to "...

I've deleted the other posts.
I wasn't sure how large the set of users here was and since what I'm looking for is a feature request and I've got my eyes open for other software too I posted in multiple places.

Re: File Managers
I am totally new to XYplorer (just trying it in hopes of finding that long-path support), so forgive me, but I love the settings area! First, it's filled with hundreds of settings that let me know this is a mature program that's been well thought out. Second, it has a great search for jumping right ...

Re: File Managers
Oh my goodness! It looks like there is some support for handling those long paths! I guess it can deal with files with very long names and delete files from very long paths. But I just tried <i>copying>/i> a directory of long-paths from the root of my drive to my Windows Desktop using XYplorer v12.0...

Re: File Managers
I'm about to make a post specifically about this, but does anyone following this thread know of a file manager that can deal with long paths? As in path's longer than 260 characters?
From reading this MS article I'm pretty sure it's doable. But so far I haven't found any file managers that do it.

Note in PCMagazine's Best Software of 2012 article, there's a Clipboard category:
