just to be sure: when you hover over it doesn't the text becomes white and unreadable?

probably because you use the standard menu?
also high contrast themes have the same effect on breadcrumbs (custom and colored menus)

Aero Lite theme on windows 8.1 makes breadcrumbs elements white (same thing in configuration window)

Why XY takes longer when you perform search for first time after booting pc?

Hi everyone
After the computer is turned on, if I run a search it will take approximately 19 Secs (search location :This PC)

and if I run another search it will just take milliseconds (search location :This PC)

why double click on this PC hides tree elements? this will reset the tree but hiding elements for any purpose?

I think this will limit search to hidden items only. also no results if GUI settings is set to hide files
