Re: portable device file copy + new product idea

I too am having problems with copying files etc to and from a Portable Drive. I have no such issues when using Windows Explorer. Mostly XY crashes. I've had the invalid name bit as above when trying to copy mp3, pdf files to the PD, other file types just seem to either crash XY or get the silent tre...

Re: Have upgraded to 15 but older version is appearing

Thanks guys. I have already submitted a reply but it seems to have gone missing. When I first installed XY it was with the intention of having it in a directory that was synchronized across all my computers. This didn't work as planned, although the forum provided some solutions. I just went with se...

Re: Have upgraded to 15 but older version is appearing

Thanks for quick response. I am heading out in 5 mins for about 2.5 hours. I have included the text you wanted in the main body as it wouldn't let me attach a .txt file. Have upgraded to 15 but older version is appearing

I have been running on 11.6 on a Lifetime Pro license for a couple of years and have not felt the need to upgrade as XY was doing everything I needed ( and brilliantly at that). Now, with XY suporting my Nexus, I have decieded to upgrade. So this is what I did...... I have the portable version. Win ...

Tree Tip and query using Catalog to open multiple files

Tip I was going to raise this as a query and thought I'd check it out to get my facts right, and as you do, when doing something with it rather than shouting at it I found out the problem. My Mini Tree was truncating on occassion even though I have "Lock Tree" enabled and I was having to r...

Re: File info with mouse over

This has come up previously (probably many many times) http://www.xyplorer.com/xyfc/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=8728 The thing I like about the method above is that if you hold Shift down the File Info Box pops up. Best of both worlds. I have not tried the menu fix in this thead and it may work as the f...

Re: Run scripts from an external program?

So we'll see a working Listary integration (in XYplorer) soon? Yes, very soon :D YEA!!! :appl: Listary is an incredibly useful add on and everyone I download it for loves it, so many thanks Channing. I use the free version at the moment as this does everything I want because the free vers...

Re: Collapsing tree

I think I'm going to have to change my tactics, instead of asking for a feature to be implemented just work on the theory it's alredy there and just ask how it's done. Even better: Get yourself a good wine (or a six-pack Jever) to prepare for a lazy evening. On that evening, create a XY p...

Re: Collapsing tree

Just found the Mini Tree Button. This does everything I want but I still think a customisable Mini Tree would be useful. For instance an accountant could have, say, "customer accounts", "Income Tax", "VAT" etc and a graphic designer could have "customer artwork&qu...

Re: Thanks to Stefan for the Scripting How-to

@stephan

You answered on of my posts (thanks) and at the bottom of your answer was the link to a scripting tutorial.

Absolutely brilliant, many thanks for the time and effort put in and also that you are still maintaining it.

Lots to go at, but it looks fun.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts for dual pane up a level

My way of doing this is to have Config > Tab Settings > On Dbl-Click = Go Up. (Clicking the tab does activate the Pane though). I just discovered this last night and applying the logic that Don wouldn't leave a function half finished found that shift+dbl click goes down. This does what I want but I...

Keyboard shortcuts for dual pane up a level

I tend to use Dual Pane a lot and am constantly clicking the Up button and finding, too late, that I have the wrong pane selected. Would it be possible to have keyboard shortcuts to do this, for instance, Ctl+Q to move the left hand pane up one level and Ctl+W to move the right hand pane up a level....

Re: Collapsing tree

#552; #1040; nearly does what I want. I'm going to have a go at creating a Catalog item to do this, if there's anything I should know please let me know. I know this (Collapsed Tree View) is on the wish list but can I add a request. I use SugarSync to synchronize my machines and 95%+ of my files are...
