Re: Rapid Access

No doubt, this is game changing and might/will become beneficial to many people. For me, it's too much blackbox and loss of control. And I lost al lot of trust regarding Mirsosoft's efforts (and skills) to assure security.

I stay reluctant, yet interested.

Re: Is there an "up" button?

Have you tried left mouse double click "on white space" yet? It means double click anywhere outside a file list entry.

Re: Rapid Access

:) Something like (just an poor man's sketch) raf:myNode raf:myNode\myStuff // if abstract node "myNode" is not yet defined, now it is raf:anotherNodeOfMine\myStuff myStuff>paper:todos // error, "myStuff" can't be resolved unambiguously raf:myNode\myStuff>paper:todos // works raf...

Re: Why are more and more users failing to unlock the application

In my experience, more and more people get "Tik-Tok-ed" (that in turn started with YouTube and its silent movie faces on the thumbs), consuming information gets reduced to "head()" them. I would put the registration instructions before the registration data and look what happens ...

Re: Rapid Access

It's not yet finalized, I suppose.

Once there are abstract structural (RAF) nodes you can create a free / custom tree wich besides leafs is completely uncoupled from the OS view on things.

Re: illogical navigation?

Because of H usually up one higher folder (no matter what folder we clicked on). I suspect "double-click on white spaces goes up" to be the culprit. What's your setting for the higlightet configuration (don't remember the default for "... in breadcrumb bar")? Does your problem go...

Re: Custom path aliases in tabs

Yes, cool feature (and yeah, much more useful than the The Glider :D ). I wish RAF could become a "real" tree. Afaiu, currently it's a tree with an (hard coded) abstract root node and non-abstract leaf children where the leafs are a user configurable ordered list. How about nested abstract...

You know what I meant. But you also know all of your customers.

300k-lines is a statement, of course.

Re: Does anybody use the Glider?

I still think it's a cool feature. And I for sure would use it much more if it supports the lists.

I don't know about the user base which is not present here, removing features "all of a sudden" can be dangerous sometimes.

Re: Colum view

I know Miller columns had been requested already in the past. I remember, Don has rejected this wish once (but can't find the thread anymore). I don't like them. Until early 2000 I was on MacOS at the University for a decade and after a very long break I'm back on MacOS since last year. I still don'...
