Re: What is the best way to synchronize XYPlorer installs - Laptop, Desktops etc.

Well,

in practice a simple sync of settings isn't possible for me as the file system paths aren't identical of each of my systems.

For instance, are the paths of your Favourites (files and folders) the same on/from every machine hosting a XY instance?

Re: Scripting Memory-Leak / Speed Degrading

No, sorry - I should have deleted that old comment the before doing the copy.

This time I haven't found any possible cause (indentination hadn't any influence afair), the (2nd) call ofcallTest() referenced from the inline-assembled script simply doesn't happen.

Re: Scripting Memory-Leak / Speed Degrading

Hi Don, unfortunately, my issue is still (again?) there (breaking nearly the half of my existing scripts). To make it easier I re-copy the script example already posted . Base script: include_once "testLib.xys"; // call lib function callTest(); // build in-the-fly script code $mscript = <<<SCRIPT in...

Ok, the mysterious overwritten function. Next week I'll find and "kill" it. :maf:

Pretty complete. There was a fix concerning dupe user functions that I left in, of course. If your script relies on user functions overwriting each other then you have a problem. :)

Re: SC load with fc bug on calling sub

Hi Don,

have you done a "complete rollback"?

With some scripts I still see hickups, but before spending more time I want to be sure there isn't a more time-saving solution.

Thanks,

Re: SC load with fc bug on calling sub

This fixed my issue. What a relief - I got my core script functionality back. :D v20.40.0016 - 2019-09-25 13:12 * Scripting: Removed that "A user function of the same name already exists!" error message (added in v20.40.0006 - 2019-09-16 16:33). The script is not terminated anymore, and the function...

Re: Scripting Memory-Leak / Speed Degrading

Yes, still can read. Thanks for polishing. :-) This drives me nuts. With my regular scripts, the problem is still there. With my example script the error again has been cured by your fix. However, the loaded script doesn't seem to call the referenced function. So there some more quirks to be ...

Re: Scripting Memory-Leak / Speed Degrading

Hi Don, first of all, thanks a lot! The issue with my example is fixed. But there's always a "but". That's why I got a "bad feeling" yesterday once I have gone through this thread. And that's also why I had to open a bottle Doppio Passo Salento Primitivo right now. After I saw my exa...

Re: Scripting Memory-Leak / Speed Degrading

I have isolated my issue which still occurs with 20.40.008. Put this into <xyscripts>: testLib.xys Put the following code into <xyscripts> as whatever.xys and run it. include_once "testLib.xys"; // call lib function callTest(); // build in-the-fly script code $mscript = <<<SCRIPT include_once "testL...

Re: SC load with fc bug on calling sub

Just a first idea: I have a script (script A) which references another one (script B, my core library) by include_once. Within A I build up the source code for a third one (script C) which is finally run from A using load($mscript, , "s"); . Now, since the on-the-fly script C also references B I sus...

Hmm, I never overwrite existing functions. Needs more time to check.

Thanks for your quick reply.
