It certainly appears to work better using fresh; which suggests something I've changed in the settings may be responsible. How do I reset the .ini to default? By deleting it? Have tested further by disabling anti-virus software, plus ensuring any programs that might be responsible for file locks being closed. No noticeable difference.

An update. Windows Defender had already been disabled when I installed SpyHunter 4. I disabled SpyHunter but it seemed to make no difference. I'll add an exception in Windows Defender, try it & report back.
