tagload flag 2 merges the loaded tags temporarily, that's not the same as dirty; they are not saved to disk when you save tags:

For removed tags (where the item comes out with no tags at all) this only works with the "ghost tag" (set label field to "-888") which by default is not used. You can tick "Configuration | Information | Tags | Auto-refresh tags" to make it work.

There is also a GUID that can be used a a pseudo-path like this right in the address bar: ::{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} It will launch the Control Panel in Explorer.

Can you reproduce it with a fresh instance?

The default settings should be fine for most users. The configuration options are for geeks only.

1) Check if View | Suspend Auto-Refresh is ticked.

2) If not, give me steps to reproduce it.
