Re: Drives bar
++1 This is my top wish for a long time. As each new standard button appears, I have to decide which others (standard and custom) to drop from the toolbar. :( XY would still appear minimalist out-the-box. But with a second toolbar and increased button limit, I could assign several of them to pop up ...

Re: Context Menu: Unpack Folder
+1 The (typical) problem: You want to quickly unpack a recently obtained zip file. It's in a folder with other items (e.g. your downloads folder). So you "Extract to folder", to avoid its contents getting mixed up with them. But when you open that folder you find that its contents are all ...

I know what you mean J.C. But, I thought it might be an accessibility issue (like Stephen Hawking's situation).

Saturday is the Jewish Sabbath (lit. seventh) and seventh day of their week. But.. Saturday at one time was the was the choice of many Christians as well, since most of the early believers were Jews who felt obligated to keep their traditional holy day on this seventh day of the Jewish week. But bec...

Re: The decline of the Australian Empire
I think DOpus have jumped the shark kangaroo* on this one. Q: What's the difference between Australia and a bucket of milk? A: Well, if you left a bucket of milk alone for 200 years, you'd expect it to develop a culture. ...and a better sense of humour. [With apologies to all (other) Aussies.] DOpus...

Re: Portable file icons
@FluxTorpedoe Beautiful icons! :appl: Speed:that's exactly what I discovered. XY first gets the real icon and then applies the CFI in case of generic off. My observation is: shouldn't CFI come "logically" first? Yes, but there is a little problem: Since patterns might need to respect (swi...

Re: Portable file icons
Ah not that. I meant combining the 16x16 with the 32x32 icons into 1 icon file.... Just load the 32's in Greenfish, and batch create icons containing 32x32 and 16x16. But 16x16s are not a simple rescale, they have proper hinting for lower resolution. That's why 32x and 16x should be merged. I agree...

The PFIs are freakin' awesome!
Well done Don. I've wanted this feature for a long time. But it was worth the wait.
P.S. I'll post some of my own folder icons to the forum later.

Re: Fix for 64bit Explorer Context Menu in XYplorer
But, as happened with the VB runtimes, they will eventually become standard MS issue with new installs (at least until MS abandons them for the their next great leap forward). I don't think portability is much of an issue. Most cyber cafes, for example, probably still use 32-bit systems. And 64-bit ...

Ah ... I didn't attempt to read the German in your message box. But "MSVCP100.dll" caught my eye. Dependencies: you maybe need the Visual C++ runtimes on your system. From the author's page. http://whitehat.dcmembers.com/pages/software/cautomaton.php Requirements Windows XP or newer. Both ...
