I've seen it on many different Wi-Fi networks, but probably all the same ISP.
Could I have a setting wrong? For example,
I have set "No network browsing on startup".
I have cleared "Check for updates on startup".

"Check for Updates" intermittent
When I manually check for an update, sometimes it responds and sometimes not. The most common behavior is that I have to issue the command 3-4 times before it responds saying there is or is not an update available. Occasionally it responds on the first try, but not often. This is not a new problem, ...

Re: column layout question
Excellent! Thanks for your help. I think I see the setting I had wrong.
Damn this is a powerful application. I have used it every day for many years.

column layout question
I'm sure this issue is caused by something I'm doing wrong, but I've read the help, searched this forum, and fiddled with the relevant settings, without success. Every once in awhile the column layout for a folder changes from my desired set to nothing other than Name. I then reload my column layout...

Re: portable device file copy + new product idea
Thanks for the report and the idea. 1) Of course, I'm looking for a solution for the 30 sec issue. But I don't think your idea will work. It's independent of the size of the file. Windows just does not return for unknown reasons. Good luck. I find MTP to be extremely frustrating and unpredictable r...

portable device file copy + new product idea
Thank you for adding portable device support. This is a huge improvement to an already excellent product. The first time I tried to copy a file to a portable device XYP hung. The help file warns of a 30 second delay to start a file copy operation so I was expecting a delay. But after several minutes...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
PS: Or you select "Match anywhere" in "Enable type ahead find" (Menus, Mouse, Safety - Type Ahead Find). A good suggestion but does not behave as expected since it matches words in the middle of the name. I need to keep it set to match at the beginning to find the first item in ...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
A very satisfying hobby I suspect.
I found one small problem. Typing a few characters to find an item in the list does not work for items with an ignored article.
If this is difficult to fix it is probably ok to leave as is.

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
Check beta v13.90.0008... Wonderful news. Thanks! I tried beta 13.90.008 but was unable to get the new sort option to work. Perhaps I am not applying the tweak correctly? I added the lines SortIgnoreLeadingWords=1 SortLeadingWordsToIgnore="a;an;the" to the [Settings] section of XYplorer.i...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
EDIT: Curiously enough popular Ebook manager Calibre took a stab at listing the articles for other languages: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/blob/master/resources/default_tweaks.py#L219 JRiver Media Center uses the following multi-language list of ignored articles: a;an;the;ein;eine;das;der;...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
Although I am satisfied with this script solution it is not as good as an ignore article feature built into the product for 2 reasons: 1) I now have an extra name column for sorting purposes which clutters my view. I cannot remove the original name column because I need to keep it for renaming purpo...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
"a" and "an" are ignored as expected but "at" is not ignored. This is what I want but I am curious how it works. Can you please translate the Regex dictionary item "an?" into English for me? First try reading this: http://regex101.com/r/iP3lU8 I suspect it do...

Re: new sorting option: ignore articles
This is one place that I'd actually suggest RegexReplace... return RegexReplace(<cc_name>, '^(the|an?)\b\s+'); return ends script execution intentionally. This works really well. Thanks kindly! Gotta learn Regex some day :) "a" and "an" are ignored as expected but "at"...
