Can mouse clicks be used as Keyboard Shortcuts?

I was wondering if mouse clicks in combination with SHIFT or CTRL could be used as Keyboard Shortcuts?

I understand box-highlighting is an issue that conflicts with color filters. This conflict is really up to the user to handle. It depends how you set-up your color filters. Today, if I want to have white text on light gray background and water my eyes off, it's my problem   Why not high...

Here is a solution to handle color conflicts: I guess the problem is when the text has the same color as the background. Like in this text: [ Message body ] Yellow on light gray is not so readable, huh? :( Solution: change the text color of the highlighted folder/files consequently. If the ...

Configuration - Interface Colors : Apply box color to list. I am afraid I was a bit unclear in my request. I would like to see highlights of files and directories in the list view, not the highlight of the whole content when I open the directory. i.e: "c:\program files" highlighted in tre...

Boxed/highlighted directories/files in list view

Hi, I have two requests. 1) I love using boxed and highlighted directories in the tree view. I would like to use this functionnality in the list view. Any chance to see it coded one day? 2) Any chance to set up box and highlights by scripting? I would need some logics in the scripts to toggle the hi...

Keyboard shortcut to paste the dir path active in XYplorer

Hello, use this little Autohotkey script to paste in any application the directory that is active in XYplorer or explorer. Why is it useful? Say you work in Word and want to save your file. The save menu always starts in "My Documents". If your save location is already in XYplorer, press w...

Donald, forget about columns for a minute :) Why not use for grouping in the file list the colored boxes that are already used in the tree list? I use them a lot already and they help in focusing on the right directories. For example, I would define a box for files that are younger than 1 day (I thi...

Hi admin and thanks for your response! a special column which could be used to mark groups I don't think a special column would work since it already exists in XYplorer. From what I read, the complicated part of coding is to produce the title of the group. May be it could be ignored for now and a bl...

The best way to explain the use of groups is to test it yourself. I was not convinced it was THAT useful, but after using groups, it feels frustrating to search throught the top of a well sorted but compact list.

Grouping in file view + extended color filter

I am a beloving user of XYplorer but I came across xplorer2 last week and wanted to give it a shot. After testing it a couple of weeks, I won't leave XYplorer. On the other hand, I have been seduced by 2 features that I miss now badly in XYplorer: 1) possibility to group the files in the file view. ...

Some very interesting work for representing files on a disk is the concept of treemaps. See this link for info: http://www.cs.umd.edu/hcil/treemap-history/index.shtml I have been looking around at different applications that generate treemaps of drives or directories. IMHO, the best result is achiev...

If I am interested in the most recently created files, the relevancy would be the age of the files.
The youngest, the most relevant. The oldest, the less relevant.
I chose the age in this example but it could be the latest modif time, the size etc...

I hope it makes it clear

Text size by age, modif age, size, ....

I am a hardcore user of color filters. But sometimes color is not the most useful way to rapidly identify files in a list. :? I was thinking about using the text size instead like in a "search cloud" that can be found on some web pages (see http://johnbokma.com/perl/google-search-cl...
