Re: Hide File Extension in Detail-View Only
Hope this post actually makes it to the forum this time. Sorry - seems the other volunterr moderators aren't keeping an close eye on approval queue and I've been spending much less time here in last few months. This morning, there were pending posts from 3 days ago awaiting moderator action...and I...

Re: Support Response
Drumalert : Don doesn't want to make it too public when he's gone away - and he sometimes does check in remotely for critical issues. FYI: Due to spam, we have a 'need approval' for first few posts from newbies here so sorry for delay in allowing yours - we only have a handful of mods and some aren'...

Re: XYplorer New Website Interface..
IMO that's fine. It was one of my design goals to have less info per view. It's the general trend and I think it's a good one. Less info is one thing - little or almost NO info is another thing - and i never thought prior vers has too much info - I thought in some cases, it didn't have enough....ri...

Re: XYplorer New Website Interface..
Requires more clicks? That would be bad. Do you have an example? using Chrome (so i can actually see site somewhat correctly), it takes 7 pages/clicks on main page to see maybe 3 to 3.5 pages of info! Which info is 7 clicks away? I'm saying that I have to do 7 PgDn keys (ok, so it's not a click but...

Do you have an example? using Chrome (so i can actually see site somewhat correctly), it takes 7 pages/clicks on main page to see maybe 3 to 3.5 pages of info! Ther's HUGE amounts of empty space that just don't add anything -- and even with my bad eyes, make...

Re: XYplorer New Website Interface..
And don't mention the tour -- it's about 10 years behind. It gives me a headache... While old, there were times when the best place to find some basic info about a feature for a newbie was within the tour and I directed a fair nbr of ppl to parts of it in the past - with the caution that ...

Re: Website and Help Typos
What the?!?!?! DON! Someone just hacked your site! They made it SUPER PRETTY!! Try looking at it via IE8 on XP - it looks like someone barfed on it - alll over the place...and...a nbr of potential customers are still on that platform, I think. Hm - I'm under XP, but with current Firefox: I think it...

Re: XYplorer New Website Interface..
One of my main design goals was not to overwhelm. I never thought the old site was overwhelming - the new one is now way too UNDERwhelming in terms of lack of content for amount space used! Not saying it needs to be crowded too much but a few words on one page is a waste of MY time to find more inf...

Re: XYplorer New Website Interface..
I haven't been active here for quite a long while (too busy with my summer cottages, taxes and such) but just looked at the website via my old XP sys using IE8 and ...as much as I hate to say it...it looks abosultely horrible! Looks like an blog of some beginning coder or such -- If I saw that site ...

Re: New user: 10 Feature Requests...
I do fully appreciate all you have said though admittedly your first point had escaped me, my apologies for that. Had I thought of it I wouldn't have posted them all together. Posting one a week or so would have made a much better "first impression" here but as you see, others have given ...

Re: New user: 10 Feature Requests...
OK thanks for the reply Just as a comment: Typically, the longer the list of items like this by a new user, the less likely Don is to consider it/them...it's kinda like an Android phone user switching to iPhone and then requesting that it act/look like Android...now tons of user requested features ...

Re: Pop-up Calendar
It also makes it possible to selcet dates w/o using keyboard which, for some of us, may be quicker and in addition, allow picking the desired dates easier - like if I wanted to use the date of the prior Wednesday - I don't have to know todays date and/or use another calendar - just look at pop-up an...

Re: Windows 10
Didn't take time to look it up but there was a widely published code snippet from M$ (I think) showing that many pgms check OS vers for Win 95/98 by looking at first char only so would break that and that was reason for going to 10.Enternal wrote:Still so odd how it's Windows 10 and not 9.

Re: to much to comprehend
FYI: The OP here was reported/flagged as spam by one of regulars, which it somewhat looked like - but as one of the moderators, I choose to leave it as is simply because of the use of a nick/userid that seems like a real person which is unusual for spam bots, at least in my experience.
