Deleting thumbs.db on a network drive.
I'm using XYPlorer to navigate to a network drive. From there, I have deleted all the file out of a directory except: thumbs.db. XYplorer won't let me delete that one: After trying it comes back with a "File in Use" message: " The action can't be completed because the file is open in ...

Re: Unable to close folders due to close "X" being hidden...
Hi - The method recommended by kunkel321 helped a lot. If I put the x on all the tabs, I get the desired effect: after closing the rightmost tab, the next one just slides into the same spot. The only disadvantage is that every tab has about 3 fewer letters on it. The long term solution from admin wo...

Unable to close folders due to close "X" being hidden...
I'm not sure I'm using the proper term for this window, but I think it's called the tabbed browsing window. In any case, when I have a number of tabs open in that window, sometimes the topmost tab is on the far right, and the "x" that would let me close that tab is hidden. I can then close...

searching in Powerpoint document..
How do I search .pptx or .docx files using the Find Panel? I know the words are in there but the search returns nothing. I have an inkling that this is related to filters used from Microsoft, but I can't find any information on that in the help file.
thanks,
John

Re: Corporate IT says XYPlorer is malware, how to respond?
Thank you for the time spent on a detailed response. I hope the metaphor about ice cream will prove more effective with this IT department. It seems a lot of their "research" is just what they find on Google.
Best regards,

Corporate IT says XYPlorer is malware, how to respond?
I've been using XYPlorer for about 10 years. I'm trying to help a colleague who would benefit from using it. His corporate IT says XYPlorer is too much of a risk, based on this web site: https://www.reverse.it/sample/1d4499d69100506322c709051f98872fd951404b0c6ae9db8ab57b6226e17c9b?environmentId=120 ...

Rename function no longer works?
For some reason, I can't rename folders as of two days ago. I've turned the Tools/Customize List/Rename on Slow Click/ checkmark on and off. It does not seem to have an effect. This applies to folders in the (I hope I'm naming this correctly) the tabbed file view. If I right click, go to Rename, it ...

Re: copies are made when pasting from Remote Desktop Connection
Thanks for the hint. If I mount the remote connection as a drive, and copy within one instance of XYplorer that is running on the local machine, then I do get the desired behavior.
thanks,
John

copies are made when pasting from Remote Desktop Connection
I have a problem pasting files from a Remote Desktop Connection - if the files exist, a copy is created with the -01, it does not overwrite (or ask to overwrite) the original. Perusing the help forums, I've tried these two suggestions below: === ====== method 1: These checkboxes enabled, per usernam...

new Items Folder
Is there any way to allow a folder within the New Items Folder show the items contained within that folder?
I.e, I want to navigate down through subfolders when putting a New Item into a directory (choosing from the New Items Folder).
thanks,
John

Re: Renaming does not seem to work..
I'm trying to add characters to the end of a filename with .BMP extension. Unlike previous tries, where the Search and Replace option on : xyz.bmp/xyz2018.bmp/e would work with the e flag, If I don't have characters in front of the '.bmp', this generates an error. So this: .bmp/2018.bmp/e generates ...
