Wow, thank you for that timely reply.

By any chance do you work for the United States federal government?

Confused on verification speed

Regarding the verification option during file copies, the help file says: Byte-to-byte: Most secure, but slower on huge files. · MD5: Fastest of the hashing algorithms offered here. · SHA-1: More secure than MD5 but slightly slower. Faster than Byte-to-byte on huge files. To perform a byte-to-byte c...

Re: Update on startup madness

Maybe some insight... I noticed that XY remembers how it last started up, i.e. minimized or normal window. I have "Start minimized" under "Startup & Exit" UN checked, but if I minimize XY, then right click its task bar button and close it, XY starts minimized next time. (The...

Re: Update on startup madness

I give up: Why only me? I'm not running any weird software that should mess with XY.

Update on startup madness

This has been threatening my sanity for the past several sub-versions... Just happened again with the notification for the 10.10.0000 update. It takes a lot for me to report XY issues so this says something. When I run XY and there's an update, the XY window seems to be backgrounded... Unusable... W...

Re: Auto-refresh not working

Do you mean you call the kernel API function mkdir or do you use mkdir from a command prompt? The above post is about apps calling the kernel API function. I was using mkdir from the command prompt. Thanks for the clarification. Edit: And when I tested, I did have the parent folder selected in XY. ...

Re: Auto-refresh not working

The post you cite says that mkdir doesn't notify. But when I use mkdir, the tree is refreshed properly in XY. I'm not sure what this means, but I hope this isn't another issue I'll have to live with because of the supposed fault of "other applications".

Re: Auto-refresh not working

1. When I mount a TrueCrypt volume. The volume gets mounted, but the new drive doesn't appear in XY. If I try opening an XY favorite pointing to the new drive, I get an error. At that point, I hit F5 and it appears. 2. When uTorrent creates a new directory in which to place downloaded files. The dir...

Auto-refresh not working

XYplorer 9.80.0000
WinXP Pro SP3

I have auto-refresh enabled (of course). It is not suspended (i.e. "Suspend Auto-Refresh" is not activated). I've tried with the "Refresh during file operations" setting enabled, and with it disabled; it makes no difference.

Reproducible annoying tab behavior

XYplorer 9.11 WinXP Blo SP3 1. Open new tab and select a UNC path from the favorites list, where this UNC path points to a system on the LAN. 2. Get sick of waiting for this directory to load, and click on another tab that is already opened. 3. Sit in wonder as the tab you have switched to ends up b...

Re: Favoriting "Recycle Bin"

I can reproduce it every time with 8.80.0061: 1. Make sure "Recycle Bin" isn't in the list of favorite folders. 2. Add "Recycle Bin" to the list of favorites. 3. Open "Favorite Folders" in "List Management". The "Recycle Bin" should be at the very bo...

Re: Favoriting "Recycle Bin"

Did you search for "recycle bin" before posting? Yes, but I didn't find that thread. Thank you. The latest beta also has the second bug I mentioned: f I then open the list of Favorites, select "Recycle Bin", and hit delete, it appears to be removed. But if I then click Sort, it ...
