The first of my pictures is 21.70, the second 21.80.
They look different.
To me the new look is annoying. But as I said I'll stay with 21.70. Thank you for your very kind help.

I want it ticked.

Image one: as it used to be, setting is ticked, item is selected and looks selected
Image two: as it is starting with v21.80, setting is ticked, item is selected but it looks cut.

no, the setting is not unticked in either of the images.
I am sorry I expressed myself wrongly. It is not the dimming but the fading that's bothering me.
In both images the items are selected, not cut.

In the new version the icon is no longer dimmed but faded exactly as if it was cut.

I gradually upgraded my install and the change appears with v21.80

I recently upgraded from v21.20 to v22.30.
Now icons get dimmed when they are selected.
I find that distracting as a dimmed icon signals "cut" to me.
I cannot for the world find a setting to change this nor a clue on the Whats New page. So I reckon it's a bug.

XYplorer crashes when browsing mp3s with info panel on Meta pane.

Im on windows 7 and it definitely scrolls in WE... But what WE does or does not is not the point. When I was on XP I had the scrolling listview in XY! Why is it important? I think this is all about preferences. Everyone has their own way browsing files. Example 1: I have a good deal of audio samples...

Does this mean it used to work until two months ago and has been "unfeatured"?
So that means back to v8.8 or WE; I guess.
