Re: Like a new feature? Say thanks here

in the past, I've attributed the initial lag in accessing an external (large) drive to hardware or os issues. After this last release (23.80.0304) my system is suddenly much "zippier" - so you get the Thanks.

Re: Pretty good product with no customer service

actually a GREAT product with GREAT support. I don't recall when I bought this software (Don probably knows) but it is the best Windows app I've ever used and I cannot begin to count the number of times a "suggestion" has been incorporated into the app or the number of upgrades I've downlo...

Re: WinRAR - remarkable service

same here (Win Commander, WinRaR & Xyplorer) - we live in "ize" times (as in weaponize and monetize). When we find one man (the author) supporting his code in every way possible, a decade after he has collected his due, it's like an oasis in the desert. Respect is owed and bestowed.

Copy without properties

Sorry if this is asked&answered, but the volume of posts and FAQs is overwhelming when you search for a common phrase. Is there a default ini that will prevent xycopy from stalling when it encounters "copy this file or folder without it's properties" situation? It's frustrating to star...

Re: (Not Responding)

this is me not responding ...

ticked and tweaked the config file as described. Now in addition to (not responding), the screen fades to pale, the circle spins and my coffee gets cold. I do appreciate the concern, but I think it is time for me to cut my losses and move on. Thanks anyway.

(Not Responding)

Admittedly, I have a big system: 21TB of all sorts of internal, external and network drives. And I realize they need a little time to wake up in the morning, but this is ridiculous. I double click on a volume and watch the blue circle spin and the status bar annouce "(Not Responding)". I g...

Re: XYplorer not responding on refresh

I also have a big system and tend to work it hard -- which is why I stopped using Xyplorer (sorry). I do check back now and then to search "not responding" to see if anything has been done -- I know it's built on the Windows interface and we're stuck with that. Seems this app has become ve...

Re: how about UN wanted "features"?

the scripts are just keystrokes - starting with this user defined command: "&DRE" load "<xyscripts>\DREfavs"; "&K230" load "<xyscripts>\5450favs"; "&URLs" load "<xyscripts>\URL" where (for example) D calls: "&Attn Solla...

how about UN wanted "features"?

I see this "error" message several times a day: (based on a nested set of scripts invoked by letters from the keyboard) (I'd show you if I could just insert an image here without saving to a website first) A key popped up a menu, and then immediately triggered an item of that menu via acce...

Re: PDF: Info Panel Preview vs. Floating preview

on my system, launching the app to view the file is considerably faster than using the preview in the info pane or (when it works) the full screen preview. I don't understand why this is a "feature". One click instead of two?

Thanks - I'm glad there are people out there devoted to the intricacies of this software. I'll try and train my fingers to hit the down arrow key now. Thanks again.

Re: renaming defaults

I'm not trying to serial rename or index the current file name - I want to be able to add new text after the file name. At present, the only way to do it is dbl click (or F2) to select the file name and then move the cursor back and forth (right - left) or move the cursor (hard to see exactly where ...

renaming defaults

I know there are 3 options for cursor position on rename (somewhere in memory) - but none of them do what I want. When I double click or F2 on a file name and the file name (but not extension) lights up, I want the first non-alphanumeric keystroke to release the selection and do NOTHING. - Such that...

Re: environment variables (built-in)

Thanks - much less of a kludge than moving the focus back and forth. -Sometimes thinking something should work a certain way keeps you from discovering how it DOES work.
